COMMITMENTS
2021 St. Frances guard Khyrie Staten Khyrie Staten 6'2" | CG St. Frances | 2021 State MD announced his commitment to Delaware State. Prior to last season, Staten was virtually unknown especially among Division I programs. That was until the 6-foot-2 guard filled a vital role in helping St. Frances to a top-15 ranking nationally. He can shoot with precision from three off the catch while bringing toughness and grit to the defensive end.
2022 Bishop O’Connell/ DC Premier point guard Paul Lewis Paul Lewis 6'1" | PG Bishop O'Connell | 2022 State VA announced his pledge to Maryland. The Terps continue to dip into the rich DMV talent pool and secure promising prospects, however Lewis is their first commit of the 2022 class. The 6-foot-2 point guard’s name began surfacing after a 30-point outbreak against nationally ranked Mater Dei last season at the historic Hoophall Classic. Look for Lewis to follow the trend of WCAC guards who’ve had long, productive careers for Maryland such as Melo Trimble and Anthony Cowan.
OFFERS
2021 Bishop O’Connell/ DC Premier guard Wes Peterson received an offer from Delaware. The 6-foot-5 guard continues to gain steam among CAA Conference programs and rightfully so. He possesses great size as an off-ball guard paired with explosive athleticism that contributes towards his versatility. He holds offers from Bryant, East Tennessee State, George Mason, Hampton, Loyola (MD), Northeastern and Towson.
2021 Good Counsel/ DC Premier point guard Antoine Jacks Antoine Jacks 5'10" | PG Good Counsel | 2021 State MD picked up his second offer in two weeks with this one coming from Fairleigh Dickinson. The 5-foot-10 point guard brings a tough-nosed mindset and can impact both sides of the ball in multiple ways. Jacks also holds offers from Army West Point and Southern.
2022 Gilman/Team Thrill point guard Christian Winborne Christian Winborne 6'2" | CG Gilman | 2022 State #199 Nation MD received an offer from Penn. While Winborne is garnering plenty of interest from power five and A-10 programs, his performance in the classroom will have a number of Ivy League schools willing to pursue him. Winborne holds 14 offers in total.
2022 Bishop Walsh/Prospect U guard/wing Travis Roberts Travis Roberts 6'5" | SG Bishop Walsh | 2022 State MD received an offer from San Diego State. Roberts has experienced quite the uptick in recruitment this summer as Bryant, Fresno State, Georgetown, Southern Utah and Witchita State have also extended offers.
2023 St. Frances/Team Durant guard Jahnathan Lamothe Jahnathan Lamothe 6'3" | CG St. Frances | 2023 State #204 Nation MD continues to stockpile offers as the 6-foot-3 combo guard was offered by Delaware State and Rutgers over the last week. Lamothe has now established himself as a top-50 ranked prospect nationally, so don’t expect the offer train to end anytime soon. He’s up to 11 in total from various power five conferences.
