Continue ReadingOnce the reworked grassroots circuit finally tipped off during the last week of July (thanks Covid-19), one of the programs in the Delaware Valley that had numerous prospects turning heads and picking up college offers was K-Low Elite . This week, I reached out to Lonnie Lowry, Director of K-Low Elite , to discuss which kids in their program stood out during summer / fall 2020 runs.
With help from Lonnie and the K-Low Elite coaching staff, I assembled a list of K-Low prospects who simply balled out over the last two months. Below is that list of K-Low Elite prospects as well as skill set analysis on each player.
K Low Elite – C/O 2021
Anquan Hill Anquan Hill 6'8" | PF Archbishop Carroll | 2021 State PA – 6’5” / Archbishop Carroll / Forward: Anquan put up big games over the last couple months and really showed off his ability to shoot from deep and to create for himself. A long and lean athlete with hops, he is a good rebounder and shot blocker. Hill controlled the paint for K-Low Elite against some pretty good competition. His coaches say he has added a few pounds of muscle to his frame. He owns the offensive glass and can finish over defenders with authority. Lastly, a decent jump shot is part of his skill set. Holds offers from a number of schools including Saint Joe’s and Drexel
Aaron Lemon-Warren Aaron Lemon-Warren 6'4" | SF Archbishop Ryan | 2021 State PA – 6’5” / Archbishop Ryan / Wing: When Lemon-Warren broke his foot last January, he was leading the Philadelphia Catholic League in scoring at 24 ppg. The pandemic hiatus allowed Aaron to heal completely and when grassroots action returned in late July, he once again showcased his ability to score at all 3 levels. He has a high basketball IQ and will not hesitate to take advantage of mismatches on the perimeter or around the basket. Lemon-Warren is also a very good passer and rebounder. Holds offers from numerous schools including Richmond and St. Louis.
K Low Elite – C/O 2022
Justin Moore Justin Moore 6'1" | CG Archbishop Wood | 2022 State PA – 6’2” / Bishop McDevitt / Guard: The former Cheltenham standout was outstanding for K-Low Elite this past summer/fall. With his speed, Moore can really push the ball in transition which led to monster games. He can score at will, but always made the right pass to get other guys open looks. Moore plays with extreme confidence and the composure of a veteran. He will be great addition as the lead guard for Coach Will Chavis at Bishop McDevitt. Holds offers from a number of D-I schools including one from Drexel.
Kaseem Watson – 6’5” / West Catholic / Guard: After a standout performance at both the Hoop Group Elite Camp (selected to camp ASG) during late July and the Philly Pride Mixer in early August, Kaseem has blown up. His ability to score and distribute is something special. This combo allows him to run at the point or shooting guard spot. Watson can really shoot it from outside. An elite combo-guard, he had several big games during the period of play from late July through early September. Holds several DI offers including from Mount St. Mary’s and Robert Morris.
K Low Elite – C/O 2023
Anthony Finkley – 6’6” / West Catholic / Point-Forward: “Ant” is an extremely versatile and athletic baller. He owns good handles, excellent court vision / passing skills and can drain the 3-ball. That skill set allows Finkley to excel in a hybrid point-forward role. As a bonus to all these perimeter skills, Finkley is no slouch on the interior. His length and solid footwork allow him to score from either block with ease. Holds multiple offers including one from Billy Lange at Saint Joe’s.
Trey Shinholster – 6’2” / Penn Charter / Guard: Last season at Penn Charter, Shinholster was a freshman who received solid varsity minutes for the Quakers. This summer / fall for K-Low he had a breakout stretch thanks to his elite level scoring. One coach described his ability to score the rock as “crazy good”. Specifically, Shinholster can shoot the lights out and finish at the rim with both hands. A high motor and excellent work ethic compliment his offensive skills. Shinholster is a prospect with tremendous upside.
K Low Elite – C/O 2024
Touari “Deuce” Ketner – 6’3” / Monsignor Bonner / Guard- Forward: Simply put there’s nothing Ketner can’t do on a basketball court and that’s why he is widely regarded as one of the top 2024 prospects in the region. Shoot, pass and dribble. Scores at all three levels. Rebounds and pushes the rock himself. Defends. Shoots the 3-ball. Ketner is a tremendous all around talent and has everything to be the next national star out of Pennsylvania.
