Dylan Arnett Dylan Arnett 6'9" | PF DePaul Prep | 2022 State IL (DePaul Prep)
Previous Ranking: #68
Current Ranking: #20
We thought we probably had Arnett too low in our last update and that was evident about 10 minutes into the first Illinois Wolves scrimmage we saw him. The 6’9” power forward has grown both height wise and gotten stronger over the last year. His athleticism has greatly improved which helps his rebounding, defense, and scoring in the paint. Arnett has proven to be a big time three point threat stretching the floor for threes at a high clip.
Martell Webb Martell Webb 6'7" | C Tinley Park | 2022 State IL (Westinghouse)
Previous Ranking: #107
Current Ranking: #32
Webb earned First Team Illinois All-Prep Hoops Circuit honors after a dominant few tournaments for the Illinois Hoopstars. Webb is a wide bodied five man that has gotten in better shape since the end of the high school season and improved his all-around game. Displayed nimble footwork on the block to go along with his power game which was tough for anyone to contain. Soft touch around the hoop and has excellent hands. Big time area rebounder that snatches them in traffic. Going to be a force for Westinghouse this season!
Nick Martinelli Nick Martinelli 6'6" | SF Glenbrook South | 2022 State #235 Nation IL (Glenbrook South)
Previous Ranking: #53
Current Ranking: #34
With a skill set similar to his brother older brother Dominic, Nick has size and great footwork to go along with an IQ of how to play basketball. Martinelli beats players with hard drives and spinning finishes at the rim. He is a court savvy forward that’s not one dimensional. He has shown his ability to shoot from all three levels on the court and is a better athlete than his older brother who dominated the suburbs last high school season.
Jamil Wilson Jamil Wilson 6'7" | PF De La Salle | 2022 State IL (De La Salle)
Previous Ranking: #54
Current Ranking: #39
Wilson is on the thinner side, but his activity level was off the charts for RISE when we saw him this summer. The De La Salle post is like a pogo stick getting off the floor in a hurry for second chance points. Rim runner in the open floor and protects the rim defensively.
Ethan Marlow (St. Charles North)
Previous Ranking: #106
Current Ranking: #47
This is a big man with helium heading into the season and his best basketball is ahead of him! The well-built four man has broad shoulders and good mobility. He displays skill around the hoop on a spin moves, reverse layups, and utilizes sound footwork in the paint. Can run the floor and flashes as a face up player.
Kai Rios (Rock Island)
Previous Ranking: #84
Current Ranking: #48
Thick bodied big man that can score with his back to the basket using skilled post moves, capable as a shooter, and is a good passer. Rebounds well in his area. He was a problem for opposing teams this summer on the PHC.
Kolby Giles (St. Ignatius)
Previous Ranking: #65
Current Ranking: #50
Gilles is a big bodied and physical 6’5” power forward that brought his high-motor both with RISE 16U and at the Stealth Runs. He was consistently flying down the floor for transition dunks. Powerful getting on the offensive boards and showed glimpses of putting it on the deck with straight line takes.
Marcus Overstreet Marcus Overstreet 6'8" | C Whitney Young | 2022 State IL (Whitney Young)
Previous Ranking: NR
Current Ranking: #54
The Whitney Young 6’8” center was playing up on the 17U level with the Illinois Jaguars and more than held his own. He has a lot of tools to work with. Finishes above the rim, can hit a baseline jumper, and shot faked his defender before going by him. Runs the floor with ease and is a shot blocking presence. Rebounds well in his area. Could be the rim running and shot blocking five that the Dolphins need next to Casey and Newell to make their front line absurdly unfair!
Fawaz Sukurat Fawaz Sukurat 6'8" | C Sullivan | 2022 IL (Sullivan)
Previous Ranking: NR
Current Ranking: #55
The 6’8” five man from Sullivan is oozing with upside. Extremely bouncy around the basket with offensive rebounds and defensively he is a rim protector coming from the weak side. Surprised us when he stepped out to drill a three looking pretty confident in doing it. Could fly up this list with more development!
