The potential for this class is sky high with several potential High Major guys. Here is a group of guys in this class that really showed up and showed out.
Martavious Russell Martavious Russell 6'4" | NA lbs | SF Sipsey Valley | 2022 State #239 Nation AL , 6’4 CG, Sipsey Valley: This guy continues to develop everytime I get to see him. Seems as if he is always adding to his game and this event proved no different. He continues to display that elite athletic ability and high IQ. That jump shot continues to improve as he knocked down several long balls both off the catch and dribble. He definitely is looking like he has High Major written all over him.
Patrick Burke Patrick Burke 6'2" | NA lbs | CG Headland | 2022 State #NA Nation AL , 6’1 PG, Headland: Pat is a dog no other way to put it. Throughout the day he consistently showed the ability to score from anywhere on the floor against any type of defender. His improved willingness to find and trust his teammates all while being aggressive at seeking buckets was fun to watch. He competed on the defensive end and showed he is a legit next-level prospect. Also did a great job on several occasions of being a very good post entry passer.
Josh Price Josh Price 6'1" | NA lbs | PG Sparkman | 2022 State #NA Nation AL , 5’10 PG, John Paul II: This kid has handle. He can breakdown just about any defender that steps up to guard him. His ability to manipulate the dribble keeps defenders guessing. He showed an improved ability to shoot off the dribble with range and is lightning quick in the open floor. He has very good vision and did a great job all day of setting up his teammates in positions to score.
Avaughn Johnson Avaughn Johnson 6'4" | NA lbs | SF Murrah | 2022 #NA Nation AL , 6’4 SF, Murrah: This kid showed up completely off the map. But it didn’t take very long before the impact plays began consistently happening. The lefty has a corky game but it is very efficient. He showed the ability and willingness to play from the top as a playmaker and make good decisions. He stepped out and knocked down several 3 pointers, but really thrived in that mid-range area and at the basket.
Knute Wood Knute Wood 6'4" | NA lbs | SG Brooks | 2022 State #NA Nation AL , 6’4 SG, Brooks: At first sight, you can tell this kid has played a lot of high-level basketball in his young career. His understanding of the game was impressive. Though he didn’t have the best shooting day you could tell by the consistency of his shot he can fill it up once he gets going. He rebounded the ball well and also had one of the nastiest finishes of the day as his unique layup package was on display all day long.
