There where some great big men/ forwards out at the event who showed out. Here are our picks for some of the top forwards from The Grand Western Classic in American Fork, Utah.
Dallin Grant Dallin Grant 6'8" | SF Cedar City | 2021 State #212 Nation UT – JM Elite
The Utah State commit, Dallin Grant Dallin Grant 6'8" | SF Cedar City | 2021 State #212 Nation UT , showed that he is a legit D1 forward. Dallin can play either forward position with a very good jumpshot which allows him to spread the floor. He can also bang inside with good height, length, and crafty footwork and a good hook he goes to often. Dallin also has a good spin move that he uses to finish inside sometimes even with a two hand slam. While he can play inside down low he is also an underrated slasher who can catch his defender sleeping and hit back door cuts. Utah State got a good player here cannot wait to see how his game looks in college.
Anthony Swift- Dessert Pines
Anthony Swift may not be someone who will drop a ton of points but he does all of the small things. Anthony is a player who reminds me of Kenyon Martin, he is a guy who plays with a chip on his shoulder and is not afraid to bang inside. If you see him on the court you can bet he is talking his talk. Anthony was one of the best rebounders at the event, he is very physical and use his athleticism to get up to grab rebounds. He is also a guy who wants to guard the best player on the court and try to lock them down. Most of Anthony’s point come from offensive rebounds or banging inside but he also has a developing mid range that was not looking too bad. And you can bet if there is a loose ball you’ll see him diving for it. Anthony is a player you’d love to play with but hate to play against, a true difference maker.
Robbie Armbrester Robbie Armbrester 6'6" | SF Wasatch Academy | 2021 State #196 Nation UT – Wasatch Academy
Robbie Armbrester Robbie Armbrester 6'6" | SF Wasatch Academy | 2021 State #196 Nation UT is someone who looked like a man amongst boys on the court. Robbie is a physical presence who uses his board frame to attack the rim with aggression. The University of Houston commit has a knack for getting in the paint and has a great vertical bounce off two which he goes to in the paint for two hand slams. Robbie also uses his body to force defenders where ever he wants them to go on the defensive end. He can spread the floor from mid range as well with developing jump shot. The University of Houston has a grity forward coming there way!
Ryan Kiachian Ryan Kiachian 6'9" | PF Bellarmine | 2021 State CA-N – Team GRR
Ryan Kiachian Ryan Kiachian 6'9" | PF Bellarmine | 2021 State CA-N is a big man who can play the power forward or center position at the next level. The Cornell commit is a good athlete, who at 6’9, has a great ability to run the floor. Ryan does everything you want out of D1 big man. His athleticism and long reach make him a great rim protector; and on the offensive end a player you must watch your head if he’s around the rim because he may be coming in for a dunk! He also has good footwork and finishing ability in the paint. Ryan uses his broad shoulder and wide frame to box out for rebounds and gets in the mix on the offensive boards often. Cornell have a good player coming there way.
Jaden Brownell Jaden Brownell 6'8" | SF Alta | 2021 State UT – JM Elite
Jaden Brownell Jaden Brownell 6'8" | SF Alta | 2021 State UT is another guy who can play either big man position. Jaden is a lengthy 6’8 and uses that length to his advantage. He has great footwork inside and likes to go the under appreciated hook when near the basket. Jaden uses this good footwork to get drop steps and spins which he finished with some big dunks this past weekend. The length he has also allows him to get some big blocks on the defensive end. Jaden only has D1 offer as of right now but I could most definitely see that changing soon.
