There  was plenty of guard play that dominated the Prep Hoops Top 250 Expo in Shawnee, KS last weekend. Let’s just say iron sharpened iron in the backcourt the entire evening. Most noticeably the ball-handling, ankle breaking moves, pure speed, and sharp shooting is what kept my attention. These eight guards look to bring the heat this winter basketball season.

Christian Bown-Webb, Jr. 6’2 Bishop Miege

He’s always on balance whether attacking the basket for a strong finish with either hand, or dragging his defender then stopping on a dime for a pull-up jumper. He played strong looking to showcase his skill while also getting teammates involved. Very hard to stay in front of him with his quickness and great handle. 

Damare Smith, Jr. 6’0 Shawnee Mission Northwest

It’s always nice to see ball handlers play with their eyes up and Damare did that all day. He see’s the floor great and made some spectacular full-court passes to reward the bigs running the floor. He’s strong and shifty with his moves and completely controls the pace of the game playing at different speeds.
