There are several excellent football players who will be key players on the basketball court during the winter. Here is my look at the Prep Hoops Missouri Class of 2021 Starting Five of football players on the hardwood.
Point Guard: Roddy Alexander Roddy Alexander 6'1" | PG Christian-O'Fallon | 2021 State MO 6’1″ Christian-O’Fallon: A hard-driving combo guard who is just as relentless in attacking the basket on the dribble as he is running with the football. As a junior, he averaged 16 points a game in leading the Eagles to a berth in the Class 3 state quarterfinals. He is an excellent finisher in the paint with a very effective mid-range jumper to compliment it.
Wing: Chevy Brenson Chevy Brenson 6'3" | SG CBC | 2021 State MO 6’3″ CBC: A big athletic wide receiver who has committed to the University of Illinois to play football, the young man they call “Karate” has been a key player for a Cadets basketball team that has made two consecutive trips to the Class 5 Final Four. He is athleticism, toughness and can play multiple positions at both ends of the court.
Wing: Cash Howell Cash Howell 6'4" | SF Rockhurst | 2021 State MO 6’4″ Rockhurst: A Division I level football recruit who excels at defensive end and wide receiver, Howell is a very active basketball player who plays with athleticism and an extremely high motor. He is a matchup problem on the court with his ability to score on power drives and knock down 3-pointers off the catch.
Forward: Harrison Wilmsen Harrison Wilmsen 6'8" | PF Priory | 2021 State MO 6’8″ Priory: A skilled combo forward who happens to be one of the tallest and most effective quarterbacks in the state on the football field. He is a skilled forward with excellent mobility and a nice shooting touch. As a junior, he averaged 16 points and seven rebounds while shooting 54 percent from the field to lead the Rebels to an 18-8 record.
Forward: John Wilson John Wilson 6'6" | PF St. Charles West | 2021 State MO 6’6″ St. Charles West: A robust 300+ lineman who has used his massive size and ability to carve out a nice basketball career. His fundamentals around the basket are very good with his ability to post up, seal, catch and score with drop steps and jump hooks. He averaged 14 points and eight rebounds while shooting 60 percent from the field as a junior.
