Wesley Rubin Wesley Rubin 6'7" | PF Homewood Flossmoor | 2023 State IL (Homewood Flossmoor)
Rubin stands at 6’7” with a long and lanky frame. In the scrimmage he was effective showing his all-around game. His jump shot from 15-18 feet was straight money all game long. Hit five shots from that range both in the half court and pulling up in transition. Shot it with a ton of confidence. Another area that impressed with this face up four was his ability to handle in the open floor and showed passing feel finding others. Can put it on the deck from the high-post area. Defensively he was good as a shot blocker.
Miles Rubin Miles Rubin 6'7" | PF Homewood Flossmoor | 2023 State #243 Nation IL (Homewood Flossmoor)
Miles is also a defensive force with his shot blocking ability. He swatted four shots in the game showing excellent timing. The 6’7” lefty hit a three and a baseline jumper. Explosive finisher around the hoop and is active on the offensive glass. Fluid rim runner in transition that can also handle it like his brother in space. Really bright future for both twins.
Jimmy Navarrette (Brother Rice)
This Brother Rice 6’3” shooting guard can play some on the ball as well. Liked his passing with one hand off a live dribble. Sound three point shooter hitting a trio of them during the game.
Ryan Kenney Ryan Kenney 6'6" | PF Brother Rice | 2023 IL (Brother Rice)
Kenney is a prospect that was very productive coming off the bench for Lockdown during the summer. The 6’6” post has a strong frame finishing dump off passes and getting junk points in the paint.
Evan Jackson (St. Rita)
Jackson showed even more to his game than we saw at Pangos camp. Like the size at 6’5” along with long arms. Jackson displayed in this setting he can play on the perimeter as well handling it and making several quality decisions as a distributor. Mid-range jumper fell and he had a sweet spin move finishing with his off hand.
KJ Cobb KJ Cobb 6'0" | SG Perspectives | 2023 State IL (Hillcrest)
Cobb is a physical 6’0” guard that has been known more for playing off the ball, but in this setting we liked his playmaking feel at the point. He was really good working around ball screens whether it was with his passing or pull up jump shooting. Also is a threat to go to the hoop off the screen where he finishes with strength inside. Uses hesitation in his driving game. Sound pull up jump shooter from both mid-range and three.
Kyle Olagbegi Kyle Olagbegi 6'5" | SF Lincoln Way East | 2023 State IL (Lincoln Way East)
Olagbegi is a versatile wing with size at 6’5”. Good wing defender that can also guard in the post as well. Offensively he does a little bit of everything. High level rebounding wing. Can take it off the bounce especially on the baseline. Capable shooter when left open and made a couple sweet dishes.
George Bellevue George Bellevue 6'5" | PF Lincoln Way East | 2023 State IL (Lincoln Way East)
Bellevue is a 6’5” super bouncy four man that has great projectability long term especially if he can grow a couple more inches. So explosive in the paint with his hops. The area we came away most impressed with was the growth in his perimeter shooting knocking down a pair of spot up threes from the corner along with a mid-range jumper. Factor in transition as a rim runner.
Nick Niego (Brother Rice)
This 6’2” shooting guard got loose several times in transition for layups along with hitting a three off the catch. Gritty defender.
Nate Kwiecinski Nate Kwiecinski 6'7" | SF Cushing Academy | 2024 State NLG (Loyola)
The younger brother of a pair of D1 prospects Nate has a skill set similar to them. Face up four man that at 6’6” can stretch the floor with his shooting although it was streaky on this day. He started off slow, but then really got it going showcasing his skill handling in transition, passing, and putting it on the deck for athletic scores.
Nashawn Holmes (Homewood Flossmoor)
Holmes is a 6’2”combo guard that was smooth getting to the rim for several layups along with hitting a pair of triples. Solid length with some upside.
Luke Newhall (Walter Payton)
Newhall was a new name that jumped on our radar. The 6’4” small forward was extremely productive. Not the most athletic, but he always seems to be in the right place to make good things happen. Ran the floor hard consistently which he was rewarded for with buckets. Strong bodied forward displayed a nice skill level including driving from the wing, spin move, and finished with a nifty layup.
Jackson Niego Jackson Niego 6'0" | PG Lyons Township | 2023 State IL (Lyons)
Niego is a pass first point guard that would rather set others up than score himself. That is exactly what he did in this setting. Crisp drive and kick finds to shooters. Got his big men the ball in positions where they could do damage. Pesky defender that got steals. Leader at the point,
