It also featured many up and coming young prospects. In this article, PH takes a look at the top c/o 2023 and 2024 players from the event.
Dylan Cooks 5’11 PG Arbor View 2023 – Quick doesn’t begin to describe Cooks. He is lighting fast and showed the ability to get by just about everyone at the camp. Love his straight-line drive ability. As he continues to develop he will have to improve his change of pace, but right now his first step and foot speed are impressive.
Anthony-Lamar Wilcox Anthony-Lamar Wilcox 5'8" | PG Skyline Prep | 2024 AZ 5’6 PG Maricopa 2023 (#84PHA 2023) (featured image) – The Goatwilcox3 is his Instagram name, and it seems appropriate for a player that plays with as much confidence as Wilcox. He never met a shot didn’t like or one he couldn’t make for that matter. Wilcox used his quick trigger to splash deep 3’s from all over the floor.
AJ Turner AJ Turner 5'11" | PG Skyline Prep | 2023 State AZ 6’0 PG Higley 2023 – Turner is a nice looking young prospect. He was very productive on the day, rebounding and getting to the hole. He also finished at a high level. He has good foot speed and athleticism and is going to be a problem for defenders in the years to come.
Masaiah Binford Masaiah Binford 6'4" | SF Ascending Life Prep | 2023 State AZ 6’2 PH South Mountain 2023 – Binford just battled. Using his length, he was able to grab rebounds and finish over larger players around the basket. At this stage of his career, he’s a back to the basket player, however, he is pretty productive with that skill set. He scored in transition and off putbacks throughout the day.
Christian DeAguero 5’9 PG Liberty 2024 – DeAguero was one of the younger players at the camp. He showed a good understanding of offensive basketball and an efficient handle.
Aerimah Binford 6’3 PF South Mountain 2024 – Binford is a raw intriguing prospect. He has a decent 1st step and showed the ability to score around the bucket. He didn’t take or make many outside shots, however, the 6’3 forward showed decent form and a good release on his shot.
