Varsity Scrimmage Evaluations: Week 6
Marko Anderson Marko Anderson 6'6" | PF Maine South | 2021 State IL – Maine South – 2021
Will not wow you with athleticism, but his fundamentals and IQ allowed him to rise above his competition in both games. Anderson has added a consistent outside 3-point shot of the catch and showed ability to handle the ball in space to go along with his always diverse and crafty inside game. He’s more than willing to get on the glass on both ends while throwing around his wide and strong frame.
Kyle McGovern – St Ignatius – 2021
McGovern has always been a high IQ player with the ability to stroke it from three as a plus shooter, but has turned a corner this fall with his ability to score off the bounce and a much improved floor game in the half court by getting to the rim in transition and off the wing.
Marco Shaw – Prospect – 2021
High motor, heady guard that gets to multiple loose balls and long rebounds. Marco consistently hit from three as well as found ways to score without the ball in his hands moving in the offense.
Liam Graham Liam Graham 5'8" | PG Niles North | 2021 State IL – Niles North – 2021
Plus shooter and energetic competitor that helped his team close both games. Gets in passing lanes on defense and excels in open space and transition as a playmaker.
Owen Schneider – Prospect – 2022
Best player in the gym on Sunday. Absolutely dominated both games with the ball in his hands and was unguardable at times. Shifty lead guard that changes pace very well and can create his own shot. Great at getting into creases and making plays in the paint, finishing at the rim or finding others for open shots. Consistently knocked down threes off the dribble and catch.
Dajour Stephens – Niles North – 2022
Transfer from Loyola Academy. Quick first step and very strong frame making him hard to guard in transition, and allows him to explode and finish through contact at the rim despite being a smaller guard. Reliable three point shooter off the catch.
Payton Pitts – Francis Parker – 2023
Lead guard with very good vision. Changes speeds well and consistently created contact, finishing at the rim and got to the line. Hard to guard in space and showed ability to create his own shot at all three levels.
Luke Newhall – Walter Payton – 2023
High IQ and fundamental player off the wing. Consistently found ways to score without the ball in his hands and comfortable finishing with either hand at the rim. Was dialed in from 3 off the catch and tough area rebounder with a motor that got to the glass on both ends.
