Here are the top newly ranked wings in the 2023 class.
Aaron Davis Aaron Davis 6'5" | SF Hudson Catholic | 2023 PA , 6’5 SF St. Benedict’s
The Grey Bees have a lot of depth on the wing, but that should not stop Davis from making an impact in his first season. The 6’5 forward has a strong frame which he uses to finish shots through contact. Davis can attack the basket from the perimeter and is athletic enough to finish over defenders. He is a good rebounder and can defend multiple positions. Davis’ toughness and defensive versatility should give him an opportunity to play big minutes for St. Benedict’s.
Daniel Vessey Daniel Vessey 6'3" | CG Hun | 2023 State NJ , 6’2 SG Hun
Vessey may be an undersized wing, but he is one of the top shooters in the class. The 6’2 guard has a smooth shooting stroke and has a quick release on his shot. Vessey knows how to move off the ball and sets his feet before he shots. He is more than just a shooter as he can handle the ball on the perimeter. Vessey’s shooting will be key for him as he looks to have a strong 2020-21 season for Hun.
Christian Pierre-Louis Christian Pierre-Louis 6'2" | SG Roselle Catholic | 2023 State NJ , 6’2 SG Roselle Catholic
Pierre-Louis is destined to play in the backcourt at the next level, but he is capable of playing on the wing. The 6’2 guard is at his best attacking the basket and can draw contact around the rim. Pierre-Louis has a good handle and is an underrated passer. He works hard on the defensive end and can defend multiple positions. Pierre-Louis’ defensive versatility is a huge asset for a talented Roselle Catholic team.
Noah Taylor Noah Taylor 6'5" | PF Colonia | 2023 State NJ , 6’4 SF Colonia
Taylor may play more on the interior for Colonia, but he has the talent to play on the perimeter. The 6’4 forward has a strong frame, which he uses to muscle shots through contact. Taylor knows how to use his body to draw fouls and has a nice touch around the basket. He is a force on both ends of the glass and knows how to move his feet on the defensive end. Taylor is a tough forward prospect who should help Colonia have a solid 2020-21 season.
Darius Phillips, 6’7 SF Seton Hall Prep
Phillips will get a lot of looks in the post for Seton Hall Prep, but he has the potential to play on the wing. The 6’7 forward has a physical frame which creates a mismatch for defenders.
