5A Freshman of the Year winner, Sammon Johnson Sammon Johnson 6'2" | SG Colleyville Heritage | 2023 State TX , is one of those guys that does the little things to get the win. For such a young player, Johnson has a mature style of play, terrific fundamentals, good poise, and stays under control, he never seems rattled whatsoever. He’s a knockdown spot-up and catch-and-shoot player from all around the arc; his form is technically sound with a proper release. Sammon can beat his man off the dribble when least expected, he displays tight handles, crisp combo moves, and the ability to cross his man over, then finish at the hoop or with his nice pull-up jump shot. Great in transition, can play the outlet and beat everyone up the court, pop out for the three, and also finish at the basket. Jackson Prince Jackson Prince 6'0" | SG Duncanville | 2023 State TX is a complete offensive threat, a true bucket getter that doesn’t need athleticism to beat his man, he gets the job done off of sheer skill and talent. He’s a creative ball-handler with a variety of ways of getting a shot up, he’s slowly but surely becoming a master of creating his own shot. Prince displays outstanding footwork and shiftiness, he always gets his man leaning before attacking or pulling up to shoot. An unconscious shooter, Jackson will pull-up in your face from well beyond the arc and if he gets in the mid-range area he can stop on a dime and get his shot off as well. He has such a great ability when it comes to getting around his defender, his knack for penetrating the teeth of the defense is phenomenal and usually leads to multiple free-throw attempts. Jackson will wind up becoming an offensive menace as time goes on, he has an all-around offensive skill set to go along with his scoring instincts and playmaking abilities. He may be a score-first guard, but he can drop some dimes as well, he excels most at this when he’s on the drive, able to kick the ball out, and he gets it out of hands very quickly. Also, you got to love his enthusiasm, he plays with a true love and passion for the game that just stands out on the court. Jackson Prince Jackson Prince 6'0" | SG Duncanville | 2023 State TX made his name known this past summer thanks to his incredible play during some of the top tournaments, against the top teams, and players in Texas. Jackson is about to become a well sought after player while playing for high school like Duncanville.

Blake is coming off an electric season where not only was he was the one single freshman on his varsity team, but he was also the one and only freshman to receive TAPPS 6A First Team All-District honors. Muschalek is an impressively quick trigger shooter who can get off the ground and get the ball out of his hands in a blink of an eye. He loves the three-ball, very lethal when he’s allowed to pull-up, spot-up, or catch the ball in rhythm. The young man is very quick on his feet, he seems to be a step ahead of his opponent most times, as soon as he gets the ball he either makes a move or blows by his guy, taking off to the rack or to his spots in the mid-range. Blake has shown the ability to be effective from both the point and the off-guard positions. On the defensive end, he’s aggressive and deadly in the passing lanes, displaying excellent anticipation, he’s always in the right place at the right time looking for the slightest mistakes to exploits. He’s caused problems with his fast hands, he will poke the ball loose if you’re not careful. Blake Muschalek Blake Muschalek 6'3" | SG Trinity Christian Academy | 2023 State TX doesn’t say much on the court, he just lets play do the talking. High potential here, he’s a player to watch out for.

This shooting marksman is knockdown from anywhere in just about any situation whether it’s a catch-and-shoot, a spot-up jumper, or a pull-up jumper, his form is impeccable and his release is high and consistent. At 6 feet, 4 inches, Mahmoud has the length to shoot and score over any defender. He can be an offensive weapon in more ways than one due to his ability to stretch the floor and penetrate the lane. Nazar drives to the basket with no fear, and when his adrenaline gets pumping he’ll try to put someone on a poster. Nazar Mahmoud Nazar Mahmoud 6'3" | SG Rouse | 2023 State #256 Nation TX is not someone you want to let heat up, it only takes him just a few shots to get it going and once he catches fire, he starts to hit everything. This kid has a good upside, he may be new to our rankings board, but it’s safe to say that he will definitely be shooting way up over time.

Anden Holmes Anden Holmes 6'8" | PF V.R. Eaton | 2023 State TX made his presence felt the entire summer, making his name well known throughout the metroplex. Holmes is a high IQ forward that can play multiple positions, run the court, and move well without the ball, consistently displaying an outstanding ability to play down low, as well as pop out. This stretch-four has a jump shot that is a thing of beauty, a very formidable catch-and-shoot, and spot-up player. He has a great feel for the game and plays well within a team concept, Anden showed that he doesn’t always need the ball to score in the offense or to make an impact. His progression over the next couple of years might turn out to be something truly special.
