Zion Harmon Zion Harmon 5'10" | PG Marshall County | 2021 State #52 Nation KY , Marshall County – Already committed to Western Kentucky, Harmon didn’t play any this summer as he gets ready for his Senior year at Marshall County. After winning a state title as an 8th grader at Bowling Green, Zion has been a name in the Commonwealth for years and going to be in the conversation for Mr. Basketball.
Ben Johnson Ben Johnson 6'3" | CG Lexington Catholic | 2021 State KY , Lexington Catholic – Another player who has sat out the summer, Johnson is likely the single most valuable player to his high school team in the state. Ben does it all for Catholic and has a total scoring package. Committed to Bellarmine for a while now, Ben is the likely front runner for Mr. Basketball at this point.
Sam Vinson Sam Vinson 6'3" | CG Highlands | 2021 State KY , Highlands – Moving from 12 overall to top 3, Sam impressed college coaches all over the midwest in an abbreviated AAU season as he racked up several D1 offers before committing to Northern Kentucky. One of the highest scoring players in the state, Vinson is hoping to push Highlands past Covington Catholic in the 9th region.
Sekou Kalle Sekou Kalle 6'9" | C DeSales | 2021 State KY , DeSales – Big and athletic, Sekou plays well around the rim and protects the rim on defense. An excellent rim runner in transition, Kalle is working to stretch his game out to the perimeter but an inconsistent jumper limits his upside as a stretch big. Holding offers from Bellarmine and Eastern Kentucky, look for Sekou to safely land at the D1 level on signing day.
Isaiah Mason Isaiah Mason 6'4" | SF Bowling Green | 2021 State KY , Bowling Green – The most recent D1 commit in the class, Isaiah is a long wing who thrives as a slasher. Probably at his best off the ball as a driver who gets into the paint and finishes or kicks to open teammates. The Purples are probably the top team in the state in preseason and Mason is their go-to scorer.
Jaden Rogers Jaden Rogers 6'1" | PG Fern Creek | 2021 State KY , Fern Creek – Suddenly the top Senior on another of the state’s top teams, Rogers is going to have more of a scoring load on him this year with the transfers of Darrius Washington and Zek Montgomery to a California prep school. Jaden is capable of doing it all for the Tigers and will have a chance to be more of a vocal leader for Fern Creek this season.
Trey James, Martin County – Another player who has sat for a majority of the summer, Trey had no reason to keep playing after he committed to Rick Pitino and Iona in July. The big man from the mountains is already the holder of most of the block records in state history and could have enough added to the records to make them un-reachable for the foreseeable future.
Cam Pope Cam Pope 6'2" | CG Male | 2021 State KY , Male – One of the biggest risers in the update, Pope will be one of the leading scorers in the 7th region this season after waiting his turn on a Senior laden Male team last year. Now that Cam is the go-to scorer for the Bulldogs, look for him to play on and off the ball and become a leader on a Male team that will rely on a bunch of Sophomores this season.
JaQuais Franklin JaQuais Franklin 6'1" | PG Elizabethtown | 2021 State KY , Elizabethtown – Maybe the best player in the state at getting into the paint, Franklin is very shifty and an excellent finisher. He can play on or off the ball but is the engine that makes E-town go. The Panthers expect to be in the driver’s seat in the 5th region this year and JaQuais is probably the most valuable player in the region.
DeAjuan Stepp DeAjuan Stepp 6'5" | SF West Jessamine | 2021 State KY , West Jessmine – Dee can be a mid major D1 player when he’s at his best but can also disappear at times. Stepp has to do it all for West Jessamine on both ends of the court which has hindered his development as an off the ball player. If he can become a 35% or better three point shooter as a Senior, Deajuan should have multiple D1 looks before graduation.
