There is sure to be huge movement up and down the list over the years as we get eyes on more players. We expanded our list to 45 total players in this update. Here are the biggest risers in the updated 2023 class rankings.
Cyr Malonga Cyr Malonga 6'10" | C Evangel Christian | 2023 State KY , Evangel Christian (Unranked ->2nd) – While there were many new names and faces in the rankings update, none was higher than the big man from the Louisville by way of the Congo. While he’s a little unknown at this point, Cyr is not ducking any competition as he is attending both “The Invite” fall league and playing in the Battle of the Bluegrass Fall league with Manimal. Evangel is unlikely to play a very tough schedule so it’s more likely that Malonga sees more competition in the fall than he does during the actual high school season.
Grant Whitaker Grant Whitaker 6'3" | PG Murray | 2023 State KY , Murray (16->6) – A lot of people claim that Western Kentucky is “slept on” when it comes to basketball but Grant is doing his part to show that the first region can compete with the best in the state. Whitaker is wired to score and can get a bucket from anywhere on the floor. He’s among the most talented Class A players in the Commonwealth and one of the best of a talented and deep point guard group in 2023.
Kenyon Goodin Kenyon Goodin 6'3" | CG Collins | 2023 State KY , Collins (18-> 11) – A talented guard who would be best described as a combo more than a pure 1 or 2, Kenyon is a 2 sport star who is a big time wide receiver and safety on the football field. Coming off a strong AAU season, Goodin will join with Quentin Simmons to make a very good back court in the 8th region and help ease the burden of the Titans losing 2 D1 players to graduation.
