Club basketball games have been completely stalled in Washington and Oregon, so Idaho has been an attractive spot as the state is much more open for hosting events. The Treasure Valley September Classic featured several sleepers and a short list of sleepers will be listed below, as well as links for college coaches to view games for themselves via YouTube.
Sleepers Short List:
2021 6’2 PG Garrett Long Garrett Long 6'2" | PG Wenatchee | 2021 State WA (FOH Seattle 17u) – Super impressive this weekend. He is strong, can shoot it, attacks the paint and he is a high IQ passer. High level D2 and high academic D1’s should be on the Wenatchee High School star.
2022 5’7 PG Earl Riley Earl Riley 5'9" | PG Franklin | 2022 State WA (FOH Seattle 16u) – Dynamic speedster on the court that seems to just find a way to positively impact the game on both sides of the ball despite his lack of overall size. Riley got into passing lanes, threw several on target dimes for easy baskets and he also scored from all three levels.
2021 6’6 SF Joe Cookson Joe Cookson 6'6" | SF Seattle Academy | 2021 State WA (Seattle Rotary) – A player that definitely plays at his own pace, but has a way of making plays on the offensive end. At his best when he is being aggressive on both sides of the ball. A three level scorer with good length from the wing.
2021 6’1 G Jaylon Ellis Jaylon Ellis 6'1" | CG O'Dea | 2021 State WA (Seattle Rotary) – A super solid player at the guard position that can play some at the point or off ball with his ability to handle, pass and score. Ellis competes on the defensive end at a high level and will be a good college player for the right level. UPS and PLU have both extended the opportunity to play at the D3 level.
