After our series of articles on the Class of 2021 who should be valued, we now shift our attention to those in the Class of 2022 and those that need to be on the radar of college coaches.
We will continue to go through each conference to try and hit as many players as possible with the hopes of helping these juniors the attention of prospective college coaches.
Angel Jose Angel Jose 6'4" | PF Central Springs | 2022 State IA – Central Springs
Central Springs Class of 2022 prospect Angel Jose Angel Jose 6'4" | PF Central Springs | 2022 State IA checks in at 6-foot-3 and used his size as a youngster to dominate in the Top of Iowa Conference last year.
Jose averaged just under 14 points with five rebounds per game, shooting 48 percent from the field and 65 percent at the free throw line.
After scoring 304 points with 110 rebounds, the center will be closely looked at this winter. Jose can dominate on either end. By putting more of his defensive skills on display, he’ll rack up the offers.
Kolton Lyman – Rockford
Rockford’s Kolton Lyman is likely to get even bigger in terms of size after playing last year as a 6-foot-2 swing man that could handle many roles.
Lyman scored 175 points with 85 rebounds, 21 steals and 16 assists, shooting over 31 percent from the field and making 45 three-pointers. He was one of four Warrior players to score over 100 points last season.
As someone standing 6-foot-2 that can knock down the three-pointer, Lyman can take a game over. Look for even more production from him this season.
Nathan Havel Nathan Havel 6'2" | PF Osage | 2022 State IA – Osage
Osage has produced some incredible talent over the years on the basketball court, and Class of 2022’s Nathan Havel Nathan Havel 6'2" | PF Osage | 2022 State IA wants to be the next.
Havel scored 161 points with 135 rebounds, 30 assists and 23 steals a season ago. The 6-foot-2 forward shot 47 percent from deep and made 72 percent of his free throws.
If Havel can add a long-range shot to his game, that will make him even more dangerous around the basket.
Carter Bruckhoff – Forest City
Forest City enjoys putting up the three-point shot, hoisting 432 as a collective team a year ago. Class of 2022 prospect Carter Bruckhoff is one of those gunners set to do it all again.
Bruckhoff shot almost 31 percent from deep last year, making 38 triples in all. He finished the season with 177 points, 34 assists, 30 rebounds and 24 steals.
With his ability to shoot from deep, Bruckhoff can attract even more college attention by adding an even stronger game from inside the three-point line.
Riley Sabin – North Iowa
Despite standing just under 6-foot, North Iowa’s Riley Sabin found a way to dominate the glass on both sides of the court last year.
The Class of 2022 prospect finished his sophomore campaign with 130 rebounds, a number that included 61 offensive boards. Sabin also scored 173 points with 32 assists and 25 steals.
Sabin’s skills on the glass make him an intriguing prospect. His awareness for the loose ball and ability to score, shooting almost 46 percent from the field, are things that should increase over the next two years.
