Jalen Quinn Jalen Quinn 6'3" | PG Tuscola | 2022 State #136 Nation IL (Tuscola)
Current Ranking: #6
The central Illinois point guard is electric with the ball in his hands with his creative finishes, euro steps, and shifty handles. His burst getting to the cup is excellent. Goes coast to coast in transition where he finishes with either hand as he is ambidextrous. Also a solid spot up shooter that hits them off the catch with ease. Gets after it defensively as well often getting steals and taking them the other way for scores.
Jaylen Drane Jaylen Drane 6'2" | PG Simeon | 2022 State IL (Simeon)
Current Ranking: #7
This highly ranked guard brings athleticism, ball handling, and upside. He hasn’t quite defined they player he is yet, but he is well on his way. Such an explosive player with the ball in his hands off the bounce getting to the rim and hitting mid-range jumpers. Showed flashes of improved playmaking this summer as well.
Donovan Jones Donovan Jones 6'0" | PG Solorio | 2022 IL (Solorio)
Current Ranking: #11
The bowling ball of a combo guard has strength, athleticism, and skill. Not the biggest guard, but he knows how to play the game. More of a scorer right now he uses acrobatic finishes at the cup to convert including reverse layups and and-1s. Bit of a streaky shooter at times, but when he is on he can get really hot from deep.
Tavari Johnson Tavari Johnson 6'0" | PG Lyons Township | 2022 State #171 Nation IL (Lyons)
Current Ranking: #13
Smooth point guard that has an advanced basketball IQ running his team in the half court. Makes sound reads with the rock in his hands. Slick getting through tiny holes in the defense. Excellent in ball screen situations and making the proper decisions off of them. He shot the ball much better from the perimeter knocking down an array of pull up threes and mid-range shots as the Rumble Up North event went on.
Justin King Justin King 6'4" | PG Mascoutah | 2022 State IL (Mascoutah)
Current Ranking: #14
The tall lead guard has excellent length with projectability moving forward. Ultra smooth with the ball in his hands taking it off the dribble for scores at cup. Shoots it pretty well with step back threes and pull ups. Crashes the glass from his guard spot. Flashes creativity as a distributor.
Damari Wheeler-Thomas Damari Wheeler-Thomas 6'0" | PG Larkin | 2022 State IL (Larkin)
Current Ranking: #22
The Larkin point guard is quick and shifty with the rock in his hands. He changes gears and directions in a split second. Speed with the rock in the open floor. Sound perimeter jump shooter. Active hands on the defensive end creating turnovers.
Cooper Noard Cooper Noard 6'2" | PG Glenbrook South | 2022 State IL (Glenbrook South)
Current Ranking: #23
High IQ guard that has a sweet looking jumper from both mid-range and three. Also took it strong on a left handed drive when we saw him in the Illinois Wolves scrimmages. Can play both on and off the ball.
Caleb Burton Caleb Burton 6'2" | PG Confluence | 2022 IL (O’Fallon)
Current Ranking: #31
Long and athletic frame with the ability to weave in and out of the defense with his smooth ball handling. Burton will have the car keys to one of the best teams in the metro east next season!
Zeke Williams Zeke Williams 6'3" | SG Naperville North | 2022 State IL (Naperville North)
Current Ranking: #35
Williams is a 6’3” combo guard that can play on and off the ball. Long and wiry frame. Pushes it well in the open floor grabbing defensive rebounds and using his speed to go the other way. Capable shooter with stop and pop mid-range jumpers. Brings creativity off the bounce with his handles winning off the dribble. Best basketball is ahead of him.
