When Delano won a state title in 2018 it was Trey Longstreet Trey Longstreet 6'6" | SF Delano | 2021 State MN starting as a freshman doing whatever his team needed.
In 2019 the Tigers worked to defend their title earning 19 wins and it was Longstreet, a sophomore, that was the main playmaker.
Last winter Delano played a five man line-up of four seniors and one junior earning a top ten spot all year and Longstreet was a top scorer, the point guard, the top defender, and the leader in assists.
This year Trey will play whatever role his team needs from ball handler to center as an entirely new line-up is plugged in around him.
The more things change, the more they stay the same. The one constant is a hard working Trey Longstreet Trey Longstreet 6'6" | SF Delano | 2021 State MN .
“I have been lifting a lot,” Trey said about his off-season. “I’ve probably put on around 15 pounds during this time off. I’ve also been shooting as much as possible. I’ve definitely improved my jump shot.
“Hopefully we have the season. That’s the first step and just stay healthy and safe during the season. My goals personally are to improve from last year and take over the number one scoring option roll. For our team our goal is to win the conference and make it to the state tournament.”
Trey also has a decision to make. There are two NSIC programs showing Trey the most interest.
“I’ve been hearing the most from Northern State and Bemidji State. I’m not sure what my next steps are in my recruitment. The only thing is I want to get to know the coaches and check on the campus of the college interested and just try and find that perfect fit.”
