Players worked hard on their games as they tried to improve their play before the start of the school year. Stocks soared during the summer session, especially in the 2022 class. Here are the top stock risers from the 2022 class from the 2020 summer period.
Omarion Jett-Dobbs Omarion Jett-Dobbs 6'2" | CG St. Benedict's | 2022 State NJ , 6’2 CG NJ Beasts 16U (Morris Catholic)
Jett-Dobbs transferred from Montclair to Morris Catholic over the summer, but that was not the only major move he did. The 6’2 combo guard attacks the basket with a purpose and is tough to keep out of the lane. Jett-Dobbs is a nice finisher around the rim and is unafraid of drawing contact. He hustles for rebounds on both ends of the floor and is a strong on-ball defender. Jett-Dobbs is a tough guard prospect who should continue to see his stock rise with more strong performances during the season.
Darren Tuck Darren Tuck 6'4" | SG St. Joe's Metuchen | 2022 State NJ , 6’4 SG NJ Panthers 16U (Immaculata)
Tuck will be shouldering a larger scoring load this season and is ready for it after his summer showing. The 6’4 guard has a smooth handle and is able to beat his defender off the bounce. Tuck can push the ball in transition and knows how to finish through contact. He has a nice release on his jumper and is capable of running the offense in a pinch. Tuck’s ability to affect the game in multiple ways on the offensive end makes him an intriguing prospect in the 2022 class.
Aaron Clark Aaron Clark 6'6" | SG Brewster Academy | 2023 State #135 Nation NLG , 6’5 CG Team Rio University 16U (St. Benedict’s)
Clark had a strong summer session as he proved he is ready to make an impact for perennial Garden State power St. Benedict’s. The 6’5 combo guard is one of the top passers in the class and always plays with his head up. Clark has a tight handle and is a play-maker when he gets into the lane. He has a nice shooting stroke and shoots the ball with confidence from the perimeter. Clark is a talented guard prospect who should be a player to watch in New Jersey for the next two seasons.
Logan Howland Logan Howland 6'7" | PF Hun | 2023 NJ , 6’7 PF Unity Legends 16U (Westfield)
Howland had a big summer for the Unity Legends as he showed his all-around game. The 6’7 forward plays with good footwork down low and has a nice touch around the basket. Howland can also step away from the basket and knock down mid-range jumpers. He rips down rebounds on both ends of the floor and talks on the defensive end. Howland is a skilled power forward who should have a big 2020-21 season.
Ryan Curry Ryan Curry 6'0" | PG Montgomery | 2022 State NJ , 6’0 PG Jersey Force 16U (Montgomery)
Curry was terrific for the Jersey Force 16U squad as he set the pace for them all summer. The 6’0 guard plays with composure on the ball and is capable of beating his man off the bounce. Curry is a tremendous passer and unselfish as he gave up numerous layups for teammates running the floor. He has a nice release on his jumper and is capable of catching fire from distance. Curry’s stock has been on the rise all summer and it should continue to rise into the coming season.
