The event gave some of the best senior talents in the state the chance to go against each other on the court in organized 32 minute long games and go through some combine type testing in between games. Here are the six prospects who shined the most throughout the day.
Hunter Sallis Hunter Sallis 6'4" | CG Millard North | 2021 State #8 Nation NE – Millard North
Enough has been said about just how good Sallis is, so I’ll keep this fairly short. After recently becoming a top 10 recruit nationally, and receiving offers from Kentucky and Indiana, Hunter was still reaching deep into his bag, making highlight-reel plays at the rim, as well as knocking down mid-range and three-point jumpers with ease. The Millard North senior is looking to lead the Mustangs back to the Class A state final this coming season, while us onlookers await his college decision with much anticipation.
Chucky Hepburn Chucky Hepburn 6'1" | PG Bellevue West | 2021 State #77 Nation NE – Bellevue West
The Wisconsin commit was all over the floor on Saturday, playing very hard and playing extremely well. Hepburn was finishing strong at the rim, knocking down 3’s from DEEP. He was also distributing the ball to his teammates, as well as being extremely vocal on both ends of the court. Simply put, Chucky was doing everything you want to see a point guard do, and he is poised to defend Bellevue West’s Class A state title this coming winter
Kwat Abdelkarim Kwat Abdelkarim 6'3" | CG Lincoln Northstar | 2021 State NE – Lincoln North Star
The 6’3 lefty guard from Lincoln put on the shooting display of the day for sure. Kwat hit a bevy of 3’s, some off balance, some step backs, some just plain catch and shoot jumpers. Couple those makes from deep with his crafty dribble moves to get to the rim, and Abdelkarim clearly stood out in the games that were being played on Saturday. Kwat has received interest from many Summit League schools and other mid-majors but is still waiting for an offer. If he plays like he did on Saturday this coming high school season, those offers will surely come.
Graham Cassoutt Graham Cassoutt 6'5" | PF Papillion-La Vista South | 2021 State NE – Papillion La-Vista South
Following a solid summer playing for OSA National Porter, he’s received offers from the likes of Nebraska Wesleyan and Hastings College. Cassoutt has great length for his size and showed the ability to finish through contact as well as step outside and hit some threes. He’s got one of the best looking jump shots in the state and is one of my top candidates for a breakout senior season.
Tyler Sandoval Tyler Sandoval 6'8" | PF Millard North | 2021 State NE – Millard North
The standout big man of the day was Millard North’s Tyler Sandoval Tyler Sandoval 6'8" | PF Millard North | 2021 State NE . The Team Factory product battled all afternoon long both inside and outside of the paint. He even stepped outside and hit a few threes as well. His role is set to increase this year for Millard North and it looks like he has added some muscle over the summer as well. At 6’7, Sandoval is a perfect prospect for D2 schools to at least take a flyer on and has already received an offer from Wayne State.
Faisaun Germany Faisaun Germany 6'1" | CG Omaha Central | 2022 TN – Omaha Central
The ultimate glue guy, Germany did a little bit of everything throughout the afternoon and while none of it was really that flashy, it was always smart. Germany always makes the right play rather it be for his teammates or for himself. Battling for boards, distributing to open teammates, and playing tough tenacious defense is where Germany thrives the most. He’s a guy you want on your team, plain and simple.
