Kooper Jacobi Kooper Jacobi 6'6" | PF Silver Creek | 2021 State IN Off Board To Toledo
Another top 2021 prospect came off the board this week as Silver Creek (IN) forward Kooper Jacobi Kooper Jacobi 6'6" | PF Silver Creek | 2021 State IN decided to pull the trigger and commit to Toledo.
The MAC school has been a factor in the Hoosier state and this time they beat out Indiana State, Bellarmine, Akron, Miami (OH), Ball State, as well as a handful of others. With the way Jacobi has developed over the last year, it is likely you seem him be a dominant player pretty quickly in his career. He’s a willing defender and rebounder and has a ton of scoring ability that creates mismatches.
2023 Standout Gibbs Lands Second Big Ten Offer
Once Purdue pulled the trigger and offered McCutcheon standout Dravyn Gibbs-Lawhorn Dravyn Gibbs-Lawhorn 6'2" | PG Montverde Academy | 2023 #42 Nation FL , it was just a matter of time before Indiana joined in. Now, the 2023 prospect has the two biggest offers in the state ahead of everyone else and looks to be the prized point guard in the Midwest in the class.
Will be interesting to see if any others join the fray but with Big Ten schools on board, likely won’t see low-major D1 programs waste their time but some bigger out-of-state schools could by the time the calendar turns over to the next year.
Trey Kaufman Trey Kaufman 6'8" | PF Silver Creek | 2021 State #39 Nation IN Decides On His Top Options
The top player on the board in Indiana has narrowed his list of suitors down to just five this week. Silver Creek (IN) forward Trey Kaufman Trey Kaufman 6'8" | PF Silver Creek | 2021 State #39 Nation IN announced his Top 5 programs with Purdue, Virginia, North Carolina, Indiana, and Indiana State making the cut.
Trey will be taking trips to Virginia and North Carolina to do a drive through campus as official and unofficial visits are still not allowed by NCAA rules at this time. He’s very familiar with Indiana, Indiana State, and Purdue at this stage and as it stands, the two in-state Big Ten schools seem to be in the lead but one wouldn’t count out Virginia at this stage.
A decision isn’t coming tomorrow but could be sooner rather than later with not much likely to change between now and the beginning of the high school and college basketball seasons.
More Notes:
- Gabe Mcnary Gabe Mcnary 6'8" | PF Avon | 2021 State IN , a 6’7 power forward, has transferred from Avon (IN) to Warren Central (IN). Should be an instant impact guy as Warren lacks size but McNary can play with fast guards.
- Ian Scott Ian Scott 6'7" | PF Plainfield | 2021 State IN , a 6’7 power forward from Plainfield (IN), has picked up his first offer from Marian University. This could be the end result of his recruitment but see other programs getting involved sooner rather than later.
- Chris Gunn Chris Gunn 6'5" | SG Lawrence North | 2022 State #114 Nation IN , a 6’4 guard from Lawrence North (IN), picked up another high-profile offer from Cincinnati this week. He already holds an Indiana offer as well as Kansas State, Ball State, and others.
- Mason Brooks Mason Brooks 6'6" | PF North Putnam | 2021 State IN , a 6’6 forward from North Putnam (IN), picked up another DIII “offer” this week from Franklin College. The stretch forward has been popular lately with multiple offers since the summer.
- Kaleb Edwards, a 6’2 guard from Guerin Catholic (IN), has been an intriguing player to come about this summer. This week, he landed a DePauw “offer” that could be big for him at this stage.
