The smooth 6-foot-5, 185-pound swingman has started to make his name out there, first with his Roosevelt High School team and now on the recruiting radar. Playing with A-Train Oregon in some tournaments this summer has helped elevate his profile as the rising junior has worked hard on improving his game this off-season.
“Individually I’ll have at least two workouts a day and playing with A-Train it made me more confident to score at all three levels,” Tupper said. “It was also a fun experience playing with top guys in the state of my class on the team.”
As the summer has progressed, Tupper has emerged as one of A-Train’s top scorers. A smooth athlete who excels in transition, according to A-Train director Devin Price, Tupper has become more aggressive on the offensive end and has been playing above the rim.
“My shooting and defending went well when I was playing with A-Train,” Tupper said. “But all summer I’ve been focusing on shooting from all 3 levels, been working on my defense and my strength.”
Previously a bit unknown going into the summer, Tupper has now started to appear on some college recruiting lists. He notes that he and his coaches have started to hear from Boise State and Montana State and that interest is something right up his alley.
“Both schools said they like how I score in transition and how I move on the floor very well,” Tupper said. “I’m looking to go to a mid major school that I can fit in scoring wise because I have what it takes to score on the next level.”
Tupper hopes to suit up with A-Train for a few more tournaments this fall in preparation for the year with Roosevelt, one in which he is really looking forward to.
“I think this year is gonna be a great year,” Tupper said. “We’re capable of scoring the most points as a team and shutting teams down on the defensive end. (I’m hoping to) score 20+ points a game and try to get First Team All-PIL and All-State.”
Tupper currently ranks as the #8 player in the PrepHoops Oregon Class of 2022 rankings.
