There was a ton of competition and hard play. Kids were playing together and really listening to our coaches and making sure they made plays in front of the many media members in the gym.
Here is a look at Part 1 of the top lengthy athletes I saw.
Enock Rosil | 6-8 | Central Pointe Christian
It was a successful expo for Rosil. The long armed forward fights for his buckets, showcased a very impressive jumper and can dig in defensively. He’s in for a steady year as a core 2021 piece on a talented Central Pointe Christian squad in the SIAA.
Ebenezer Ogoh | 6-10 | Admiral Farragut
In the final game of the day, I had a chance to watch Ogoh go toe to toe with James Henderson James Henderson 6'8" | PF Westminster Christian | 2021 State FL . It was fun to see the two bigs simply battle on every possession whether they had the ball or not. Ogoh won many of the battles and was not shy against the strongest true 2021 big in attendance. A 2022 prospect, Ogoh is in good hands at Admiral Farragut and is someone who is full of endless potential as a legitimate center.
Jonah Pierce | 6-8 | Lake Howell
Pierce has been steady all summer and I liked what I saw out in Orlando at the showcase. He is a gifted shooter for his size, can mix it up defensively as a core shot blocker and is not slow by any means. His heads up play and active feet always help him. The 2021 forward is a good bet for a double digit scoring season at Lake Howell this fall.
Trae Martin Trae Martin 6'8" | PF Brooks DeBartolo | 2021 State FL | 6-9 | Brooks DeBartolo
Good feet and patience can be seen with Martin. He has gotten leaner since the last time I saw him and added some muscle. The 2021 forward has clearly been in the gym working on his post moves and mid-range game because it flashed often at the expo. He is a lock down shot blocker and a true shut down player for Brooks DeBartolo.
Jordan Hinds | 6-4 | Cypress Bay
One of the most energetic 2021 wings in attendance had to be Hinds. He was getting up and down the floor with ease, finishing high flying dunks and making things happen with his quick legs and good movement. Expect him to have a breakout senior year at Cypress Bay.
Simeon Joseph | 6-6 | Auburndale
A super intriguing athlete, Joseph was beyond explosive in this event. He got to the rim and finished hard and with power. I like the tenacity and purpose he plays with. Now at Auburndale, the 2021 forward with fit right in with his pure abilities.
Jonathan Caicedo Jonathan Caicedo 6'7" | CG Hoover | 2023 AL | 6-6 | Clearwater Calvary Christian
Just starting to hit his true potential, the long wing had plenty of bright moments on Saturday. Caicedo is a downhill battler and a finesse athlete who can win on one-on-one matchups more often than that. More muscle and a more polished jumper will help his stock rise. Still, only a 2023 prospect, the Clearwater Calvary Christian forward is a true rising talent.
Ashton Lovette Ashton Lovette 6'4" | CG Saint Francis Catholic | 2022 State FL | 6-4 | St. Francis Catholic
Lovette continues to get stronger in muscle and his overall game. He was active as can be at the expo and I was impressed by his mix of burst and attacking. The 2022 guard/wing is going to have a major junior year at St. Francis Catholic.
