Justin Abson Justin Abson 6'9" | PF North Broward Prep | 2022 State #230 Nation FL | 6-9 | North Broward Prep
The name of the game is “PATIENCE” for the 2022 forward. When in the low-post, Abson takes his time while fighting to get in position to score—doesn’t rush his shots. Love his jump-hook in the paint. He did a great job at snatching offensive rebounds for putback dunks, as well as earning some blocks on the defensive end. Abson should be key for NBP, this season.
Pete Laidley Pete Laidley 6'6" | PF Pembroke Pines | 2021 State FL Jr. | 6-6 | Pembroke Pines Charter
The trey-ball was falling for the senior wingman, on Saturday. Pete wasn’t shy to let it fly and it paid off for him throughout the day. He’s another hooper that showed he can set up teammates with the way he passed the ball from around the foul line. In the post, he played strong and created chances for easy scorers a few feet from the cup. Look out for Pete as he approaches his senior season.
Dalton Robinson Dalton Robinson 6'7" | PF Lake Howell | 2021 State FL | 6-7 | Lake Howell
The senior forward showed nothing but pure power when on the floor at the Expo. He lived in the paint, getting a bulk of his scoring done by-way-of thunderous slams and quick putbacks around the rim. On defense, he will pin your layup to the backboard if you let him. Guaranteed one of the most impactful players on the court, all day.
Josiah Sabino Josiah Sabino 6'5" | SG Orange Park | 2022 State FL | 6-3 | Orange Park
“Speedy Sabino” would be an appropriate nickname for this 2022 guard. The way he was able to blow past defenders from the three-point line and race to the rim was nothing short of impressive. In fact, “around the rim” is how he was most effective when scoring the rock. Even when receiving contact, Sabino was strong and savvy enough to finish the job. He was equally effective when pushing the ball in-transition. I’d expect to see a stellar junior campaign from Sabino, this season.
Kyle Smith Kyle Smith 6'5" | SF Astronaut | 2021 State FL | 6-5 | Astronaut
This senior wingman made his living off hitting the trey-ball at the Expo. Smith has great form on his jumper, and it fell more than enough times to have defenses do their best to lock-in on him. On defense, he’s great at cheating the passing gaps, resulting in some takeaways for his team. Opposing squads are going to have a tough time limiting this guy’s shooting ability this coming season.
Jayhden Moncrease Jayhden Moncrease 6'4" | CG Spruce Creek | 2021 FL | 6-5 | 4A
Jay is arguably one of the best pass-first guards for the class of 2021 here in Florida. He’s constantly surveying the floor, looking for ways to pierce the defense through his ability to assist. While being extremely vocal, Moncrease did an awesome job at rebounding the rock on both ends and hit it from deep a number of times on the day. A new addition to 4A, look for Jay to become a real centerpiece, this season.
