Randall will look to help the Kuna “: make the jump back to 5A and continue their winning ways. Last season, Cade played a big role for the Kavemen and was one of the best shooters from anywhere in the state. He has a great feel for the game and is a dynamic guard with lots of potential. Continue reading for a breakdown of Cade’s game from all aspects.
Defense: Randall is a solid and reliable defender. Kuna likes to apply full court pressure a handful of times during each game and Cade is able to play in the front and keep up with guards while forcing steals. He has great hands and plays the game with a highly intelligent approach which allows him to see plays happening before they actually occur. Randall has great instincts and is always in the right place at the right time on defense. He is willing to slide over for a charge, double in the post, or attempt to front post players when he gets switched from a guard. For his size and position, Randall rebounds well for a guard and loves to grab long rebounds or head to the paint once his teammates have secured boxouts.
Offense: Cade thrives on offense and is one of the best pure shooters in the state. Kuna loves to run double and triple screen actions which allow Randall to find open spaces on the floor where he can catch and shoot once he gets his feet set. Randall has great footwork and only needs a fraction of a second to plant his feet before rising up for an easy jumper. He has a quick release and can get his shot over taller defenders efficiently. Randall is also an underrated passer and likes to drive past the defender after a shot fake, where he can eventually get to the rim for a finish, or kick to the open man. Randall can also knock down the occasional mid-range jumper, but his strengths are at the rim or shooting the open outside jumper.
Overall: Randall has tremendous upside and has a great overall feeling for the guard. He is a solid and reliable defender with a great jump shot and the ability to make defenders guard him well beyond the arch. He thrives in an offense which sets screens for him and allows him to read what the defense is willing to give him. I would love to see Cade improve his scoring efforts this season while also attempting to lead the Kavemen.
