It also included several big time big men. In this article PH takes a look at some of the top Bigs from the event.
Keba Keita Keba Keita 6'9" | C Wasatch Academy | 2022 State #157 Nation UT 6’8 PF Empire 2022 (#3PHU 2022) – Couldn’t take my eyes off him all week. Keita is a physical specimen that plays with a high motor. If it wasn’t for Kaden Perry Kaden Perry 6'10" | C Battle Ground | 2021 State #16 Nation WA , he definitely would have been the top rim protector at the event.
Paolo Banchero Paolo Banchero 6'10" | PF O'Dea | 2021 State #3 Nation WA 6’10 PF Seattle Rotary 2021 (#1PHW 2021) – Banchero is going to make this list no matter what tournament he participates in. He was as good as advertised, and I was impressed by his overall ball skills. Reminds me of a young Kevin Love minus the fullcourt outlet ability.
Kaden Perry Kaden Perry 6'10" | C Battle Ground | 2021 State #16 Nation WA 6’9 PF Seattle Rotary 2021 (#4PHW 2021) (featured image) – The first thing you notice when watching Seattle Rotary, is that if a player happens to get past one of their guards, you still have Perry and Banchero to contend with. A relentless out of area rebounder and rim protector, Perry is perhaps one of the most underrated players on the West Coast.
Brody Rowbury 6’11 C So Cal Buzz 2021 (#5PHI 2021) – Rowbury is a massive human. The extraordinary part of his game is that for a man so huge, he has a terrific skill set. The lefty can step outside and shoot it, is a willing passer, and has several low post moves that he likes to use down low. His ceiling depends on getting his body in shape and his conditioning, but he is definitely a player.
Alex Horiuk 6’11 C College Prep 2021 – Perhaps the top sleeper from the event. The size is obvious, but I don’t think Horiuk gets enough credit for his skill. He has decent hands, and is an extremely fluid runner when changing ends of the floor. With quality bigs being in such high demand, I fail to see how he doesn’t end up with a scholarship somewhere.
Jaxon Kohler 6’9 PF Team Swish 2022 (#2PHN 2022) – Kohler was marvelous this week. The top 60 player competed with the emotion, energy and passion of a walk on. His footwork is becoming a thing of legend. Kohler can kill you with drop steps, as well as jump hooks over each shoulder. A highly skilled player that has recently been receiving interest from the likes of UCLA and Arizona.
Bradley Ezewiro 6’9 PF Belmont Shores 2021 – Ezewiro reminds me a lot of former NBA great Darryl Dawkins. There’s nothing fancy to his game, but it certainly is effective. A powerful R&J athlete, the LSU commit punished the rim with many thunderous dunks all weekend.
