Continue ReadingThe Pangos All-West freshmen and sophmore camp kicks off this week. The camp features some of the top west coast prospects in the c/o 2023 and 2024. Over the course of the Spring and Summer, I’ve had an opportunity to see many of these prospects compete. In this article, PH takes a look at some intriguing prospects that I will get to see at the camp.
Tyler Parr Tyler Parr 6'1" | PG Atwater | 2023 State CA-N 6’3 Atwater 2023 (#21PHNC 2023) – Parr is a high effort high motor player that competes on both sides of the floor. Likes to put it on the ground and drive, but is also capable of dishing off the bounce.
Colton Dukes Colton Dukes 6'1" | SG Atwater | 2023 State CA-N 6’1 SG Atwater 2023 (#14PHNC 2023) – Can’t wait to see Dukes again. Sneaky good athlete with a strong upper frame, and good explosion. He was impressive this summer when I watched him in a few events, can’t wait to see how he fares this weekend.
Malik Brown 5’10 PG Tigard 2023 (#6PHO 2023) – Brown is a shifty playmaker with the ability to get consistent paint touches. Plays the position with a high IQ and has the vision to find open teammates off the bounce.
Kalim Brown 5’10 PG Tigard 2023 (#10PHO 2023) – Max effort guy that brings it on the defensive end. On the offensive side of the ball, Brown is a tremendous offensive rebounder for his size. He is a scrappy playmaker that manufactures points with his effort and energy.
Alijah Adem Alijah Adem 6'2" | PG Spring Valley | 2024 State #174 Nation NV 6’0 PG Durango 2024 (#7PHN 2024) – Good test for the young PG. Adem has some dog in him, and the ability to go get his own shot. Interested in seeing how well he shoots it off the bounce, if he can lock up other elite young PG’s and how his overall game has developed since this summer.
Taj DeGourville Taj DeGourville 6'4" | SF Red Rock Academy | 2024 State #203 Nation NV 6’3 SG Durango 2024 (#1PHN 2024) – Haven’t seen Degorville in a while, so I’m anxious to learn how he has developed. At this stage in his career, he has the ability to simply bully opponents. Degorville can get his shot whenever he wants. I’m only interested in seeing if he plays with a consistent high motor this weekend. If he does, he has a good chance to walk away with camp MVP honors.
Jamison McCall Jamison McCall 6'0" | CG Spring Valley | 2024 State NV 5’10 PG Shadow Ridge 2024 (#14PHN 2024) (featured image) – One of the rising prospects in the class of 2024. McCall brings a lethal shooting stroke, along with a high IQ to the camp. He’s able to play both backcourt spots efficiently. McCall is a guy that can get hot and open a lot of eyes.
