It also featured several quality young prospects. In this article we take a look at some of the top 2023 and 2024 prospects from the camp.
Yorgio Golesis Yorgio Golesis 5'10" | SG Skyline | 2023 State UT 5’11 PG Skyline (UT) 2023 (#25PHU 2023) – Golesis plays at his best when he’s playing fast. He has good PG skills including the ability to find and deliver off the bounce. Loves to shoot it and has range on his shot. The 5’11 PG was selected to the Top 75 game.
Quentin Meza Quentin Meza 6'0" | PG Cyprus | 2023 State UT 5’11 PG Cyprus (UT) 2023 (#30PHU 2023) (featured image) – Meza provided his “He’s only a what” moment several times throughout the weekend. An absolute assassin that can sense opponents weaknesses. Meza was terrific with his pull up 3 ball, and his ability to snake in the lane and finish. Crafty, heady 1 man that was selected to the Top 75 game.
Khaman Maker Khaman Maker 7'1" | C Trinity | 2024 State #127 Nation NV 7’1 C Desert Valley Prep (NV) 2024 – The young center from Africa has come a long way in a short time. The #1 attribute that I love about him, is that he doesn’t know that he’s good. Maker plays with an enthusiasm and an energy that is encouraging for a player of that size. His shot blocking and rebounding is obvious, but what really stood out to me was his willingness to post hard and his soft touch around the rim.
Tylen Riley Tylen Riley 6'2" | CG Durango | 2023 State NV 6’0 CG Durango 2023 (#25PHN 2023) – I have to rank Riley next week for the release of the PrepHoops c/o 2023 rankings. I’m not sure how high, but I’m guessing he’s going to rise. He has some consistent skills to hang his hat on which includes his defensive ability, his quickness and upper body strength. Challenged the top guards at the camp and came away with his share of victories. Intriguing young prospect that played well this weekend.
Yaqub Mir 6’1 PG Granite Bay (CA) 2023 (#21PHNC 2023) – Mir is a low maintenance player that wont hurt his team with mistakes. He plays with good pace, and his 3 point shooting ability requires a hard close out. He’s also a terrific student, rocking a 4.0 GPA. Mir was selected to the top 50 game.
