It also featured some spectacular R&J athletes. In this article we take a look at the best athletes from the event.
Quinton Webb Quinton Webb 6'7" | PF Etiwanda | 2022 State CA-S 6’6 SF San Yasidro (CA) 2022 (#26PHSC 2022) – In any gym in America Webb looks the part. A long lean athlete with tremendous get off the floor ability. Webb had several amazing dunks on the weekend. At one point it seemed like if you turned your head for a second, you would miss one of his posters.
Ethan Speaker 6’6 SF Boulder City (NV) 2021 (#7PHN 2021) – It was a coming out party of sorts for Speaker. He actually told me that he had “dead legs” on Day 2. I bet his opponents would hate to see him fresh. Had several powerful jams including this awesome tip jam.
Brayden Carter 6’7 SF J.K Mullen (CO) 2021 (#12PHC 2021) – Fearless rim attacker. I was impressed by the sheer number of times Carter hit the ground while trying to attempt a spectacular dunk. He uses his frame to explode off the floor and is comfortable hammering home dunks with either hand.
Mouhamed Mbaye 6’8 PF Colorado Prep (CO) 2021 (#2PHC 2021) – If you throw it anywhere near the rim Mbaye will go get it. A powerful athlete with explosive two foot leaping ability, we’re lucky the rim is still standing after some of his dunks.
Alpha Chibambe Alpha Chibambe 6'4" | SF JSerra | 2022 CA-S 6’5 SF JSerra (CA) 2022 (#37PHSC 2022) (featured image) – Alpha has the rare quality of being able to protect the rim from a wing position. He’s built like a D1 player already with broad shoulders and definition in his arms. His leaping ability seals the deal, as the powerful wing is able to explode off two feet to finish plays.
Jaden Winfield 6’5 SG King 2021 – Winfield caught a body that still has me shaking. A quick jumper, if he gets his 1,2 down call the morgue.
Dennis Mganga 6’5 PF Renaissance Academy (CA) – When you watch Mganga jump, it’s almost like he has the slow mo cam on him. However when he does finally get to the rim, he displays elite level leaping and power. Had several drop step dunks on the weekend.
Collin Chandler Collin Chandler 6'5" | CG Farmington | 2022 State #28 Nation UT 6’4 SG Farmingto (CO) 2022 (#4PHU 2022) – You don’t need to wait long to witness Chandler displaying his athletic ability. The Co MVP had a sick off the glass dunk in the Top 25 A.S Game.
