Continue ReadingOlympus Prep’s roster was filled with talent last season and this year should be no different. There is talent across the program as Olympus Prep is loaded across its teams. The practice sessions are intense as players are trying to prove their worth against good competition. Here are the top standouts from Olympus Prep.
Javon Adams, 6’9 SF/PF 2022
Adams is a skilled combo forward who has one of the higher ceilings in New Jersey. The lanky 6’9 forward can handle the ball on the perimeter and can shoot over his defender. Adams can finish around the basket and made solid good passes throughout the course of the game. He uses his length to rip down rebounds on defense and is capable of leading the break. Adams’ versatile offensive skillset makes him a player to watch this season.
Cam Tweedy Cam Tweedy 6'6" | PF Olympus Prep | 2021 State NJ , 6’7 SF/PF 2021
Another combo forward, Tweedy proved that he has the makings to have an instant impact at the next level. The 6’7 forward has a strong frame, which he uses to finish through contact around the basket. Tweedy has a good handle and is capable of beating his defender off the bounce. He skies for rebounds on the defensive end and is athletic enough to finish above the rim. Tweedy’s combination of power and athleticism makes him a nightmare matchup for opponents.
Ronald Ayers Ronald Ayers 6'2" | CG Olympus Prep | 2021 State NJ , 6’2 CG 2021
Ayers may not be the biggest guard on Olympus Prep’s roster, but he makes up for it with his toughness. The 6’2 lefty was not afraid of anyone on the defensive end and got his hands on numerous balls. Ayers was at his best in transition as he made tough layups and did not make poor decisions with the ball. He has a nice release on his jumper and is capable of running the offense. Ayers is a play-maker on both ends of the floor, which is a good sign for the Olympus Prep Red team.
Khalid Elmi Khalid Elmi 6'5" | SG Olympus Prep | 2021 State NJ , 6’3 SG 2021
Elmi had a great performance at practice as he showed his versatility on both ends of the floor. The 6’3 guard showed off a nice release on his jumper during shooting drills and shot the ball with confidence. Elmi is more than just a shooter as he put the ball on the floor and finish around the basket. He fought for rebounds on both ends of the floor and held his own on defense, despite guarding players much taller than him at times. Elmi’s ability to make an impact on both ends of the floor makes him a guard prospect to watch in 2021.
Guy Fauntleroy Guy Fauntleroy 6'0" | PG Olympus Prep | 2022 State NJ , 6’0 PG 2021
Fauntleroy is a blur with the ball in his hands as defenders cannot keep up with his speed and quickness. The 6’0 guard has a great handle and is dangerous once he gets into the lane. Fauntleroy is more than just a driver as he can also knock down jumpers from behind the arc. He is a solid passer and is capable of defending the ball 94 feet. Fauntleroy is a talented lead guard who should run the Olympus Prep offense smoothly this season.
