Jack Southern Jack Southern 6'0" | CG Wagoner | 2022 OK — 2022 Wagoner PG |
→ Southern plays with a lot of intensity. He really has that it-factor you want from a point guard, from his vocal leadership to his ability to make plays for teammates at the one, his charisma is gravitational. With the ball, he only knows how to go, though he still maintains control at top speed. He pushes the pace to its maximum, especially in transition, and he elevates the play of everybody else by attacking, constantly chipping away at defenses until he can find a compromised opponent and putting as much pressure on that defender as he can, often before giving the ball up to a wide-open corner shooter or cutter. Southern is the type of player you want on the floor in late games, to rely on to make plays and produce open shots.
D’Andre Titsworth D’Andre Titsworth 6'1" | SG Muskogee | 2022 OK — 2022 Muskogee PG (pictured in featured photo) |
→ Titsworth has keen vision for the floor, awareness of teammates’ off-ball cuts and the athleticism to finish off whatever develops in his head. He passed the ball well Sunday often as a primary or secondary point guard option for his team, though his playmaking mentality still applied when he was without the ball. Pairing his intelligence with his speed, he was able to get to the rim, often scoring for himself or handing off to a teammate in the opposite short or long corner for easy points on the board. Because of his ability to elevate and finish with either hand, he was able to draw defenders to himself in most situations to help others score.
Cooper McDowell Cooper McDowell 6'0" | PG Collinsville | 2022 OK — 2022 Collinsville SG |
→ McDowell is a natural scorer with the ball as his game relies primarily on his often visible focus with the ball in his hands. His bread-and-butter is his shot, which he settled into as the day progressed and became more confident taking shots against contest. He also understands well how to feel defenders and uses the shot to effectively set up the strike. He is also capable at the point, using his vision and speed to push-pace on the court, a talent that I hope he continues to develop. McDowell’s best bottom-line trait is his efficiency, which will be the congruent with the ceiling of his recruiting.
Jarreth Ingram — 2023 Tulsa NOAH PF |
→ It is hard to not be excited about a kid with Ingram’s stature and mobility. Only a sophomore, Ingram stands a legitimate 6-foot-5-inches with a solid wing-span and a good frame-work. First and foremost, he is a defensive standout who I think could only further improve his reputation as a notorious rim-protector, though his offensive game is almost as excellent. He moves with fewer snags than you would expect from a younger lanky forward, moving quite fluidly in the interior. Ingram can score on the handle, get to the rack from the high post and move off-ball to get open. He also passes pretty well from the post, another nod to his uncharacteristically mature vision for the court.
