After spending almost two months deliberating on rankings, we here at Prep Hoops have finally our class of 2021 rankings ready for release. A process that started out with a simple collection of rank-able names moved through a collection of analysis on the players, and then the final “big-board” style ranking of them.

When making the first complete class of 2021 rankings on Prep Hoops, we here decided to be different compared to the majority of ranking systems in NY. We didn’t have a bias towards the city or Long Island, and we didn’t just focus on the D1 talent, but we decided to go DEEP, meaning both deep into the state and deep into the rich player pool New York provides.

After deliberating on player positions, our rankings go from possible future professionals to players aiming for a D3 school, making it one of the deepest statewide rankings overall. It starts at the top with AJ Green, a forward already ready to head to Duke and play for Coach K, with local stars such as Khalil BrantleyKhalilBrantley5'10" | PGBoys & Girls HS | 2021State#171NationNY, Shemani FullerShemaniFuller6'9" | PFCardinal Hayes | 2021NY, and Jaylen MurrayJaylenMurray6'0" | PGPutnam Science | 2021State#167NationNY following not far behind.

Player analysis has already been released on most players located in the city, Lower Hudson Valley, Long Island, and Central New York, with the rest of the newcomers’s coming out soon!

Rankings for the class of 2022 will be released this September 22nd.
