Wilson is an athletic guard that can explode near the rim to score with creative finishes and slam dunks. He can also knockdown spot up jump shots from the perimeter and get downhill to score in transition. Wilson has room to improve as a playmaker and playing with other talented players this summer on Lincoln Supreme he could get lost in the shuffle at times. However, he never stayed quite for too long and would wow the crowd with an athletic finish or jump shot from deep. Wilson is a diamond in the rough for Brownell Talbot and should help improve their record this season after gaining experience against high level talent this summer.

Continue ReadingPlenty of new Nebraska prospects put themselves on the radar with the summer basketball season. The updated Nebraska 2022 Rankings expanded the list by 25 prospects from 60 to the top 85! These are the 6 new names that land within the top 50 of the updated rankings.
William Kyle William Kyle 6'8" | C Bellevue West | 2022 State NE
Kyle is a 6’7 true post player that got better and better as the summer went on. He does everything that you want from a big man. He can anchor a defense, protect the rim, and rebound at a high rate. Offensively, he shoots a great percentage in the paint. Kyle scores almost all his points on put backs, rim running in transition, pick and rolls, and easy dump off finishes. He doesn’t force anything offensively or stretch the floor as a shooter, but he is active and defenses have to put a body on him and account for his size or he can dominate inside. Kyle only appeared in six games for the state champion thunderbirds last season, but will slide into a starting role and take over for John Shanklin John Shanklin 6'7" | C Bellevue West | 2020 State NE while Bellevue West tries to defend their title.
Gil Jengmer Gil Jengmer 6'8" | PF Grand Island Central Catholic | 2022 State NE
Jenger is a well built forward with a ton of potential that already looks ready for the next level physically. As a sophomore, Jengmer played in 13 games for Grand Island Central Catholic and averaged 2.2 points and 1.8 rebounds. His game is still very raw and you would expect a little bit more production statistically just based off his size. However, this summer he looked great for Team Factory as a rebounder and finisher in transitions. He also looked more fluid and comfortable every time he played. Jengmer has size that can’t be taught. If he starts to dominate the glass and be more disruptive defensively he will quickly rise up the rankings. That is not even mentioning if he becomes more of a threat offensively.
Devin Wilson Devin Wilson 6'2" | SG Millard North | 2022 State NE
Evan Inselman Evan Inselman 6'6" | SF Bellevue West | 2022 State NE
Inselman is another Bellevue West Thunderbird that will jump into a key role after playing very little in his sophomore season. He played in 10 games last season and averaged 1.8 points per contest. This summer, he played for a talented OSA Crusaders team and looked ready to make a much bigger impact as a junior. Inselman makes plays on both ends of the floor and has agility and size to play either forward position. He has length to help as a rebounder and can contest shots around the basket or on the perimeter. He also has some touch inside and outside offensively. Inselman should see a major boost in role this season as he will help fill Louis Fidler Louis Fidler 6'5" | SF Bellevue West | 2020 State NE ‘s role for the defending state champs.
Dillon Riedmiller Dillon Riedmiller 6'5" | PF Lincoln Southwest | 2022 State NE
Riedmiller is a forward with good size from Lincoln Southwest that first caught my attention while player for Nebraska Select. He is not afraid to get physical defending in the post or rebounding in traffic. He is patient offensively and can absorb contact and finish after pump faking defenders on the interior. While he didn’t play in many events this summer, he made an impact when he was on the court. Riedmiller will be the main interior presence for a young Lincoln Southwest team that looks to improve upon a 10-16 record from last season.
Zion Hendon Zion Hendon 6'5" | PF Omaha Central | 2022 State NE
Bang is a 6’5 forward with length and leaping ability. He transferred to Omaha South for his sophomore year after playing at Bellevue East as a freshman. Omaha South had just come off a state championship season and were lead by seniors like Jay Saunders Jay Saunders 5'11" | CG Omaha South | 2020 State NE , Tyrece Griggs Tyrece Griggs 6'0" | SG Omaha South | 2020 State NE , and Skyler Wilson Skyler Wilson 6'0" | PG Omaha South | 2020 State NE , so there were not many opportunities for Zion to find his way onto the court. In the 17 games that he did appear, he played limited minutes and scored just under 1 point per game. He did not end of playing for a club during the summer season, but Bang looked as long and as athletic as ever in practices early in the summer. With Omaha South graduation nearly their entire varsity team from last season, Bang and fellow 2022 prospects Dontryl Nunn-Love Dontryl Nunn-Love 6'1" | SG Omaha South | 2022 State NE will be thrust into lead roles. Without many other options, I expect Zion to average near double digits in points and be a productive rebounder.
