Glenn Bynum Jr Glenn Bynum Jr 6'3" | CG Carmel Christian | 2021 State NC – Mint Hill Lakers – 6’5 Guard/Wing
Bynum was impressive at the Big Shots Southeast Showdown, knocking down a total of 10 3-pointers while averaging 19.0 ppg at the combo guard position. He used his size and handles well to navigate the wing and get to his spots on the perimeter. He led the Mint Hill Lakers to the 17U Orange Championship game alongside Chance Morrow Chance Morrow 6'6" | SF West Charlotte | 2022 State NC , another name you’ll get to know. Bynum is an impressive guard with size that posting 19 points and five 3-pointers in the title game, despite the loss. He’ll be a name to keep an eye on at Carmel Christian.
Cam Gates Cam Gates 6'0" | CG North Mecklenburg | 2021 NC – Primetime Elite – 6’0 Guard
Gates was one of the standouts in the backcourt for Primetime Elite as they pushed Moravian Prep National to the brink in one of the early games of the weekend. He went off for 28 points on six made 3-pointers and four made field goals, showing off his ability to score on all three levels against some top prospects. He finished the weekend with 12 total 3-pointers made and 21.3 ppg, good for fourth in the 17U Orange Division. North Mecklenburg won’t take a step back with him on the floor this season.
Tony Waters II – Primetime Elite – 6’0 Point Guard
Waters was the other guard that stood out for Primetime Elite’s backcourt. He’s a speedy point guard that’s shifty off the dribble that does well to control the pace and keep the defense off balance with his attacking play. He also does a good job drawing contact and getting to the free throw line. He made 11 free throws at Big Shots Southeast Showdown while averaging 17.7 ppg and knocking down six 3-pointers. He’ll be another name on the North Mecklenburg roster to look out for.
Jackson Holt Jackson Holt 6'4" | SG Moravian Prep | 2022 State NC – Moravian Prep National – 6’3 Shooting Guard
Holt is quite the shooting guard given his ability to space the floor and knock down 3-pointers. He knocked down seven 3-pointers across four games and really came into his own in Moravian Prep National’s final game against Flight 22 , knocking down three 3-pointers and scoring 10 points in the victory. He’s a threat on the perimeter to an eye on.
Xavier Thornton Xavier Thornton 6'3" | SG Anderson Christian | 2021 State SC – Moravian Prep National – 6’4 Guard
The other threat on the perimeter for Moravian Prep National is combo guard Xavier Thornton Xavier Thornton 6'3" | SG Anderson Christian | 2021 State SC . Thornton knocked down the 3-ball with consistency and showed off his ability to lock down on defense and make his presence known. He finished the weekend with six made 3-pointers while averaging 11.3 ppg at the Big Shots Southeast Showdown.
