Jordan Brown Jordan Brown 6'2" | SG St Francis | 2022 State GA , 6’3 Guard/Wing, Basehor-Linwood High School
Brown really put himself on the high school basketball map in Kansas this past summer. He plays with a ton of confidence and charisma while on the court. He has consistently shown the ability to knock down shots at a high level from all over the floor and this Sunday was no different. He did a great job of knocking down threes in transition and off of extra passes. Brown also hit a couple of long range bombs off of the bounce while tightly guarded once he got going. His game is continuing to expand and become more diverse, but Sunday he showed why his ability to shoot the three is still his biggest offensive weapon.
Trevor Mcbride Trevor Mcbride 6'2" | CG Basehor Linwood | 2022 State KS , 6 ft Guard, Basehor-Linwood High School
The Basehor-Linwood back court dynamic duo of McBride and Brown are running together in the MoKan Fall league and their chemistry playing off one another showed. McBride does so many great things on the defensive end with his great instincts, fast hands, and never ending motor, that his great three point shooting often gets overlooked. However, Sunday he flashed that shooting ability to go with everything else, especially in game 2 when he hit a three on three out of four possessions coming down the stretch. Two of those came off of catch and shoot situations and the third was a deep one off of a cross over dribble.
Hudson Henzlik, 5’10 Guard, Blue Valley Northwest
Henzlik played extremely hard all day on Sunday, sprinting the floor in transition, screening, relocating on the wing, and these actions helped benefit him on getting nice open looks in both games where he showed he is capable of shooting threes efficiently. He had a nice sequence in game 1 of the day where he ran wide in transition, beat everyone to corner and hit a kick ahead transition three followed by a kick out three off of a drive the following possession. He is a type of player who’s effort helps manufacture open looks for him and on Sunday he took advantage of them.
Desmond White, 6’2 Guard, Helius Catholic
White has a great shooting stroke and he was able to get his shots off with ease making close outs to him ineffective. He knocked down multiple threes on the day and they came in multiple ways. His footwork on his shooting was something that stood out, as he was able to get on balance using both the hop and one-two step gathers quickly on the catch. White also had a couple of instances where he played off ball fakes and use his length from the guard spot to get to the rim, but his shooting stroke and footwork was where he stood out.
Quentin Robertson, 6’1 Guard, Blue Valley West
Robertson got the three point makes on Sunday going early. In his first game of the day he hit multiple threes during a huge run that his team was on which piled on the momentum they were building. He shoots the ball with extreme confidence and it is noticeable with how fast he gets shot ready when he is being passed the ball. He picked his spots on when to shoot the ball or make extra passes, getting others involved while showing off his basketball IQ.
