Devin Yeager (6-6 PF, St. Cloud Tech 2022) – I remember watching Yeager at the Granite City Classic last winter slip a couple bouncy plays in on a very young, inexperienced team. He excelled as a roll man on Saturday and has a second jump ability that few can match. A worker-type that will have lots of value as a prospect in the next two years.
Donnavin Hinsz Donnavin Hinsz 6'6" | PF Columbia Heights | 2022 State MN (6-6 PF, Columbia Heights 2022) – Hinsz was a rotation piece at Moorhead for his underclassman years and has seen important, relevant game action that will make him a leader and go-to player in his new situation. His body has transformed into a chiseled, bouncy 6-6 frame and the way he cleared boards while also laterally defending smaller ballhandlers caught multiple eyes in all the games he played. Will be a versatile defender and rebounder playing a lot more of the widespread competition he would see in AAU.
Alex Addai Alex Addai 6'4" | PF St. Paul Harding | 2021 State MN (6-5 PF, St. Paul Harding 2021) – From the opening tip, Addai made his living under the hoop. Most guys were shaking off the rust with long jumpers that produced long rebounds and Addai read the ball very well capitalizing on opposing ball-watchers to grab the offensive board and putback. Relentless rebounders with size like that are hard to come by and serve teams very well on bad shooting days.
Demarion Watson Demarion Watson 6'8" | SF Totino-Grace | 2022 State #150 Nation MN (6-6 PF, Totino-Grace 2022) – The highflying DWS (I have no idea if he goes by that but it sounds catchy to me) was a highlight of the Expo. He showed some full-court transition creation after outjumping defenders for rebounds and punctuated a lot of possessions with dunks. Iowa State offered a day later and his stock will continue to rise, as will Totino-Grace’s potential success.
Evan Boyd Evan Boyd 6'2" | SG DeLaSalle | 2021 State MN (6-3 SF, DeLaSalle 2021) – I loved what Evan Boyd Evan Boyd 6'2" | SG DeLaSalle | 2021 State MN showed in terms of all-around game on Saturday. He was more poised than the opposing point guards and more aggressive than the opposing bigs. His balance, control and patience with and without the ball were all strong points of his performance that didn’t necessarily show box score results. He has a ridiculous wingspan which gives him just enough rebounding advantage and he picked his spots well to not get out of position on caroms.
