As I have said in the past, this is not who I believe will make the team. More so, this list compiles players who I believe are best “bets” to land the nomination at the closure of the season.
Anthony Floyd Anthony Floyd 5'7" | CG Hallandale | 2023 FL – Miami Lakes
Floyd was one of the first freshman I saw last season and I came away very impressed. The rising sophomore went against 2x defending state champion Stranahan and came away with 17 points. The 5-foot-8 guard has electric quickness baseline to baseline. Moreover, Floyd knows how to use his body and draw contact when going up for a lay-up. Floyd supplements this with a terrific handle that will give a defender a difficult read on the ball. Other than 2020 Carrington Campbell Carrington Campbell 5'10" | CG Hallandale | 2020 State FL , Floyd was one of the faster guards I saw play. The upside is he still has three years of high school to get bigger and stronger.
Daniel Fernandez – Westminster Christian
The former Belen Jesuit star has taken his talents over to Westminster Christian to play for PJ Brown. The 5-foot-10 point guard averaged 14.6 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game last season. Fernandez shows a lot of heart and hustle even when things don’t go his way. This was evident in a game I saw him play against Riviera Prep way back in January. I believe he is coachable and wants to get better.
Cameron Johnson Cameron Johnson 6'5" | SF Norland | 2022 State FL – Norland (Miami)
Johnson is an underrated player across Greater Miami. The 2022 has the length you look for to play the wing at 6-foot-4. In addition, Johnson is only going to get stronger and more compact as he gets into the weight room. As far as numbers, Johnson already brings them to the table. The dynamic Viking averaged 14.9 points and 6.7 rebounds per game last season. Against Miramar, Johnson scored 30 points and grabbed ten rebounds.

– Miami Palmetto
Davis enjoyed a terrific sophomore season playing for Killian despite the team struggling to a 8-16 record. The 6-foot guard averaged 14.7 points across 23 games. Davis played some of his best ball late in the season, including a 6-game stretch where he scored above his average. Davis has since transferred to Miami Palmetto.
Daniel Zaladon Daniel Zaladon 5'11" | PG Keys Gate | 2022 State FL – Keys Gate
Tucked at the end of the continental United States, Zaladon is not a player to sleep on. The 2022 guard averaged 14.3 points, 5.7 rebounds, 4.2 steals and 3.6 steals per game last season. Zaladon helped lead Keys Gate to a 20-10 record and poured in 30 points against Monsignor Pace. The current junior is a terrific defender with quick hands and instincts in passing reads.
