Nevertheless, programs and facilities worked together in order to give players a platform as college coaches watched via live stream. Before May, it looked like the chances of having any basketball this summer were very slim, but fortunately that wasn’t the case and players were able to boost their stock along the way.
For this series, we’ll be taking a look at stock risers from the area in various classes.

Jordan Hawkins Jordan Hawkins 6'5" | SF DeMatha | 2021 State #41 Nation MD | 6’5 | DeMatha/Team Durant
Hawkins will likely be used more as an off-ball guard rather than a true wing, but there’s no denying his rise from the time the high school season concluded. From April to July he collected 11 offers from Power 5 conferences after being a key cog in DeMatha capturing the WCAC title. His size at 6-foot-5 paired with his dynamic scoring ability from all three levels should make him an immediate impact for head coach Dan Hurley and the Huskies.
Jared Billups Jared Billups 6'5" | SF McDonogh | 2021 State MD | 6’5 | McDonogh/Team Thrill
Billups enjoyed a steady spring/summer for Team Thrill who capped off August with a huge win over Team Takeover to improve to 12-0. Before committing to Siena on Aug. 24, Billups held 11 total offers, five of which came from May-July. At 6-foot-5, Billups is an extremely versatile defender who has potential to be an all-conference caliber talent on that end by the time he’s a junior. Look for him to continue to build to his offensive game in the half court while being a viable threat in the open floor where his athleticism and finishing ability come to light.
Jakai Robinson Jakai Robinson 6'4" | SF Rock Creek Christian | 2021 State #53 Nation MD | 6’5 | National Christian/Team Takeover
Robinson has been a topic of conversation in the recruiting world as many anxiously await his decision. The 6-foot-5 southpaw is an explosive scorer who’s being recruited heavily by the likes of Seton Hall, Miami, N.C. State, Clemson and more. He’s displayed his versatility on the defensive end by guarding opposing forwards for long stints and doing so successfully.Offensively he’s a threat from pretty much anywhere. He can convert shots at a high clip from the perimeter, break his defender down to create space off the bounce and finish through contact at the basket.
Mohamed Toure Mohamed Toure 6'6" | SF Hun | 2022 State NJ | 6’6 | Sandy Springs/District Basketball Club
Toure has shown growth in his overall game this summer and seems to be getting comfortable with his long, 6-foot-6 frame. Throughout these last few months, he’s made defenses pay for leaving him free beyond the arc and has been a headache to stop in the open floor with his length and athleticism. Both characteristics translate to versatility and effectiveness defensively as well. While he still has some way to go in terms of polishing his all-around game, Toure caught the attention of many programs in the area. Army West Point has been the only school to extend an offer, but others are keeping tabs on his progress.
Cam Tweedy Cam Tweedy 6'6" | PF Olympus Prep | 2021 State NJ | 6’5 | Olympus Prep/New World
Tweedy checks a lot of boxes when evaluating what teams need in a wing. Since announcing that he will do a post-grad prep year at Olympus Prep, his name has gained more steam in recruiting conversations. A prior Loyola (MD) commit, Howard extended an offer back in January. While he hasn’t received any offer this summer, his name is generating buzz with his play in the I-95 Coalition league. I expect another offer or two in the future for Tweedy considering the plus athleticism and versatility he provides.
