OFFERS
2021 Frederick Douglass guard Mike Woods Mike Woods 6'4" | SF Frederick Douglass | 2021 State MD received his second Division I offer of September. Canisius extended an offer to the 6-foot-4 guard who recently took home MVP honors of the I-95 Coalition 17U age bracket with DMV Sports Academy. Army West Point offered last week and Woods also holds two Division II offers from Bowie State and Livingstone.
2021 Sandy Springs/District Basketball Club wing Mohamed Toure Mohamed Toure 6'6" | SF Hun | 2022 State NJ received an offer from Navy, marking his second offer from an armed forces program with Army West Point being the other. Toure has caught the eye of many coaches with his length and untapped potential at 6-foot-6. He brings versatility and competitiveness to both ends of the floor as he showcased all spring and summer long with DBC.
2021 Eleanor Roosevelt/District Basketball Club Thomas Whitley Thomas Whitley 6'6" | PF Eleanor Roosevelt | 2021 State MD received an offer from Gannon University. He now holds two Division II offers with the other coming from Chestnut Hill and from what I know, a slew of other Division II programs are investing time in the 6-foot-6 do-it-all wing/forward. Whitley has plenty to offer at both ends and should be an immediate impact if he decided to go the Division II route.
2022 Archbishop Spalding/Team Melo wing Cameron Whitmore Cameron Whitmore 6'7" | PF Archbishop Spalding | 2022 State #30 Nation MD added an offer from Florida. Whitmore, who will make a hard push to be the top player in our updated 2022 player rankings, continues to establish himself as a household name among high major programs and now sits with 14 total offers from a variety of power 5 schools.
2022 Wilson/Team Durant wing Darren Buchanan Jr. Darren Buchanan Jr. 6'7" | PF Woodrow Wilson | 2022 State #101 Nation MD received an offer from Rutgers. The Scarlet Knights are the second Big East program to offer the 6-foot-5 wing. Seton Hall also is invested in Buchanan and his other offers include schools such as Akron, Bryant, George Washington, North Texas and Rhode Island.
Another 2022 prospect that is steadily boosting his recruitment is Bishop Walsh/Prospect U guard/wing Travis Roberts. The 6-foot-5 shot maker received an offer from Fresno State and now boasts a solid list of other schools including Bryant, Georgetown, Southern Utah and Witchita State.
Pittsburgh invested in four 2023 prospects from Team Durant’s 15U squad, all of which will be recruited at a national level. Kwame Evans Kwame Evans 6'9" | SF Montverde | 2023 State #20 Nation FL , Jahnathan Lamothe Jahnathan Lamothe 6'3" | CG St. Frances | 2023 State #204 Nation MD , Shawn Simmons and Amani Hansberry Amani Hansberry 6'7" | C Mount St. Joseph | 2023 State #52 Nation MD all received offers from head coach Jeff Capel. This group of four rising sophomores recently attended the Crossroads Elite Invitational in Kansas alongside some of the best players in the country where they proved themselves and continue to spread their reputations around the country.
2023 Lake Braddock/Team Durant wing Jamie Kaiser received an offer from Coastal Carolina. Kaiser’s first offer came from Southern Utah in late August. At 6-foot-5 the dual sport athlete impacts the game in a multitude of ways and will be a prospect to monitor closely going forward after establishing a name for himself with a juggernaut Team Durant 15U squad.
Impact transfer news:
We’ve seen 2022 guard CJ Lee CJ Lee 6'1" | CG Northwest Jaguars | 2022 State MD produce at a high level this summer with District Basketball Club following a solid sophomore campaign at Clarksburg High School. Lee received his first Division I offer to date from Bryant in early August and has since been on the radar of more and more low major programs. With uncertainty surrounding whether or not Montgomery County will rescind their decision to not hold winter sports in 2020-21, Lee decided to transfer to Rock Creek Christian Academy. Lee will not only have a chance to play, but have a chance to showcase his skill set playing in a national schedule against top competition and in front of many important eyes.
Our Illinois scout, Scott Burgess, reported earlier this week that 2021 Lincoln Park guard Ismail Habibb Ismail Habibb 5'11" | PG Lincoln Park | 2021 MD will transfer to Bishop Walsh for his senior year. Habib is a, Austin Peay commit and seems to be an electrifying scorer from the guard position who can shoot with range. Burgess described Habib from an event in early August where he was a clear standout:
“Point guard Ismail Habibb Ismail Habibb 5'11" | PG Lincoln Park | 2021 MD put on a shooting clinic in the first half. He drilled pull ups from mid-range all over the floor and stretched it out to three point territory as well. Quick and shifty lead guard that has crisp handles and a burst with the rock in his hands. He can break down a defense in so many different ways.”
