Kansas Citians have a lot of great high school basketball to look forward to this winter.

Guards like Lonell LaneLonellLane6'0" | PGJC Harmon | 2021StateKS, Alston MasonAlstonMason5'11" | CGBlue Valley Northwest | 2021StateKS and Harrison BraudisHarrisonBraudis6'1" | PGBishop Miege | 2021StateKS will put on a show. There are plenty of stars in the city, but this summer brought a whole new pack of studs to the fore.

Here is a look at some of the KC-area guards who were among the top risers this summer (in alphabetical order and with club and high school and grad year listed):

Sebastian Hamm, Team KC – Green 16U, Blue Valley Southwest, 2022:

Hamm will get all over an opposing guard. He’s quick and tough and takes pride in his defense. The 5-foot-11 junior can handle the ball full court under pressure. He can get to the goal and score, or he can facilitate offense and find open shooters. He’s confident from deep as well.

Dakota Marshall, Team KC – Kerr 15U, Olathe East, 2023:

The 6-foot Marshall has a versatile offensive game. He can handle the ball all over the court, penetrating defenses to create. He can score at the goal or find an open shooter. He has good quickness and speed to
