He’s a fluid athlete and a top notch man defender.
Question: What was your highlight of the day?

“The highlight from the showcase for me was competing against, and seeing, multiple great players. It was competitive. The teams bonded well with each other and were ready to play.
Question: In what way do you feel like you improved at the event?

“Ways that I feel like I improved at the event were being able to play with players I didn’t know and playing without a coach and plays.That all revolves around me just being a leader and getting my teammates involved — and studying their skill set in such a short period of time.”
Question: What was the biggest challenge you had to overcome on that day?

“The biggest challenge that I had to overcome during the showcase was being active and vocal. It’s not easy playing with players you’ve never played with before so, I had to continuously talk on defense. Encourage my guys on and off the court and being a facilitator.”
Question: What were your goals going into the event?

“My goals going into the event were to gain exposure from the colleges of course. And also doing what I know I’m capable of doing. Not being selfish and trying to get mine. Everybody was there for the same reason, so each player should have the ability to score and contribute to the game in different areas.”
Question: How do you feel that the showcase benefitted you?

“I think the showcase benefitted me well due to the college exposure it gave. One of my intentions was to at least get my name written down on one of those books.”
Question: What are your goals for this fall and next season?
Jaylen Flaniken Jaylen Flaniken 6'3" | SF Detroit Edison | 2021 State MI
My goals for this fall are to get stronger, gain more stamina, and manage a 3.7 GPA or greater. My goal for this upcoming season is to a win another State Championship and also become a better teammate/player than I’ve ever been. I’m confident in my team and in this season. I will continue to be persevere and have God in my corner whether or not things are going or bad.”
