Camden and Manasquan combined to lose two games last season and should be tough to beat again. The group is filled with big-time talent who are ready to make an impact at the next level. Here are the top under the radar duos to watch in Group 2.
Camden- Devin Benson Devin Benson 6'0" | SG Camden | 2021 State NJ & Sebastian Robinson Sebastian Robinson 6'2" | CG Roselle Catholic | 2023 State NJ
The Panthers are loaded with talent in 2023 phenom Dajuan Wagner Jr Dajuan Wagner Jr 6'4" | PG Camden | 2023 State #1 Nation NJ ., Penn State commit Ta’Quan Woodley Ta’Quan Woodley 6'7" | PF Camden | 2021 State #221 Nation NJ and wing Jerome Brewer. The guard group is loaded with Cian Medley Cian Medley 6'0" | PG Camden | 2023 State NJ returning to run the point along with a strong bench duo in Benson and Robinson. Both players are capable of playing both guards spots with the former having a smooth shooting stroke. Robinson is extremely skilled with the ability to get to his spot on the floor and break his defender down off the bounce. The High should be the team to beat in New Jersey with Benson and Robinson giving the Panthers a big boost off the bench.
Dumont- Dominick Barlow Dominick Barlow 6'7" | SF Dumont | 2022 NLG & Ousmane Thiam Ousmane Thiam 6'3" | SG Dumont | 2021 State NJ
The Huskies quietly won 19 games last season and has one of New Jersey’s best kept secrets. Barlow is a talented wing prospect who attack the basket and finish through contact. He is capable of knocking down three-pointers and can handle the ball on the perimeter. Thiam is a strong defender and has the ability to handle the ball in the half court. Dumont has the ability to make a deep run in the sectional playoffs behind Barlow and Thiam.
Pascack Hills- Aidan Kehoe Aidan Kehoe 6'11" | PF Canterbury | 2022 State NLG & Jacob Morales Jacob Morales 6'4" | SF Pascack Hills | 2021 State NJ
The Cowboys made the North 1 Group 2 final and they should make it again in 2020-21. Morales was the team’s leading scorer last season as he has a good mid-range game and can finish around the basket. Kehoe has a nice touch around the basket and is a good free throw shooter for a big man. The 6’10 forward has taken huge strides since the end of last season as he plays with confidence down low and is a good shot-blocker. Pascack Hills has one of the top duos in Group 2 in Kehoe and Morales, who should carry the Cowboys deep into the state tournament.
Robbinsville- Ryan Smith Ryan Smith 6'5" | SF Robbinsville | 2021 State NJ & Brian Herbert
The Ravens won 20 games in 2019-20 and they could do it again with Smith and Herbert returning. The former has a nice touch around the basket and knows how to draw contact. Smith has a nice release on his jumper and can handle the ball on the perimeter. Herbert is a knockdown shooter from behind the arc and knows how to move off the ball. Robbinsville have a strong duo in Smith and Herbert who should lead the team to a strong 2020-21 season.
Manchester Township- Savon Myers Savon Myers 6'5" | SF Covenant College Prep | 2023 State NJ & Wyatt Hasselbauer Wyatt Hasselbauer 6'7" | PF Red Bank Catholic | 2022 State NJ
The Hawks lost in the South Jersey Group 2 quarterfinals, but they have the potential to go further in 2020-21. Myers is the team’s top returning scorer as he attacks the basket with a purpose and can finish through contact. He can handle the ball on the perimeter and is an underrated passer. Hasselbauer is a rugged post player who plays hard on both ends and is one of the top rebounders in the 2022 class. The return of point guard D’Maari Brown D’Maari Brown 5'9" | PG Manchester Township | 2022 State NJ makes Manchester Township a team to watch in the Shore Conference this season.
