The team was led in scoring by class of 2021 guard, 3.9 GPA high academic student from Emerald Ridge, 6’1″ Connor Drinkwine Connor Drinkwine 6'2" | SG Emerald Ridge | 2021 State WA . Drinkwine continued to reinforce his reputation as a deep range shooter as he averaged 15 points per contest, scorching the net at 48% from long range.
2021 6’5 Jalen Barbee Jalen Barbee 6'5" | SG Franklin Pierce | 2021 State WA (Franklin Pierce HS) was another standout. The 6’5″ senior, also a high academic student, was the ultimate stat sheet filler over the weekend. His length and athleticism allowed him to get to the rim in the open floor, block shots, rebound and cover the rim with a variety of put back dunks. Barbee’s most impressive feat was when he totaled 18 rebounds in a single game. He finished the weekend averaging a double double at 14 points and 10.5 rebounds per game.
2022 6’1 G John Barbee John Barbee 6'1" | SG Franklin Pierce | 2022 State WA (Franklin Pierce HS) and younger brother of Jalen, mentioned above, had a strong showing as well. demonstrated quickness in the open floor. Numerous times the opposition tried to trap the younger Barbee and he simply ran passed them with the ball. Over the four games he totaled averages of 11.5 points per contest and 5.6 rebounds. A hard nosed defender and rebounder. One of the most impressive plays was when he contested a shot, rebounded the ball at the rim and got to the other end of the floor in 5 dribbles for a lay up. John has an extra gear to beat everyone down the court when he puts the jets on. An underrated prospect in the 2022 class.
2021 5’9 PG Eddie Brown Eddie Brown 5'10" | PG Emerald Ridge | 2021 State WA (Emerald Ridge HS) displayed quickness and good decision making with the ball in his hands. He was able to make adjustments from game to game. With a variety of options to look for on offense, Brown was able to get to the basket when needed, and be a past first guard as well.
2021 6’5 PF Josh Pemberton Josh Pemberton 6'5" | PF Emerald Ridg | 2021 State WA (Emerald Ridge HS) despite him averaging 8 points and 6 rebounds a game, his most impressive stat came on the defensive end. Pemberton averaged 2 charges per game and in one game he took 4. Undersized most of the tournament, Josh was able out work most big men as he demonstrated crafty moves keeping defenders off balance while he scored inside. A small college prospect in the 2021 class.
2021 6’2 G Dylan Ihrig (Emerald Ridge HS) came back healthy after sitting out much of his junior year. He is a solid athlete and plays his role scoring in his spots and playing solid defense. Ihrig finished the event at 5.75 points per game, 3 rebounds and just short of 2 assists per contest.
Two other players to keep an eye that are also from Emerald Ridge High School are Elijah Neilson who runs the point and 2023 6’5 wing Marquis Robinson Marquis Robinson 6'5" | SF Emerald Ridge | 2023 State WA who ended up getting injured in this event.
