It also included several players capable of creating shots for themselves or their teammates. In this article PH takes a look at the top playmakers from the event.
Gideon Harris 6’1 PG D1 New Mexico 2023 – Harris was one of the best undersized rebounders I saw on the weekend. What has him on the playmakers list is his knack for getting into the paint and dishing to teammates when opponents collapsed.
Jordan Pope Jordan Pope 6'1" | PG Prolific Prep | 2022 State #194 Nation CA-N 6’0 PG Team Arsenal 2022 (#4PHNC 2022) – Pope is a natural playmaker. He has such a fantastic finishing package that defenders are forced to step out when he enters the paint. That’s where his vision comes in. Pope sees the floor extremely well, allowing him to find open men in all areas of the court.
Isiah Broady 6’8 SF Arizona Firestorm 2021 (#7PHA 2021) (featured image) – The more I see of Broady, the more I like. He has above average size and length for a college wing, and the skill set to rival it. Broady was the best 1 on 1 player I saw this weekend, but he also showed the ability to find the open man when the defense collapsed.
Alexis Marmolejos 6’2 SG San Diego All Stars 2022 (#45PHSC 2022) – Marmolejos didn’t create for others as much as some on this list, however his speed and quickness allowed him to get into the paint at will. The 6’2 combo guard was one of the top paint touch getting players at the event.
Ahmaree McCullough 5’9 PG Team Arsenal 2023 – I just which McCullough was 4 inches taller. As it is he was one of the top young players participating. He combined great quickness with terrific vision. McCullough is a pure point that understands how to set the table for others.
Aidan Mahaney Aidan Mahaney 6'3" | PG Campolindo | 2022 State #71 Nation CA-N 6’2 CG Team Grr 2022 (#2PHNC 2022) – Mahaney was one of the first players I noticed. He plays with terrific pace, and always seems to have his head up. The combo guard puts pressure on the defense with his ability to score, and create for other.
