It also included some of the smartest student athletes in the country. In this article PH takes a look at some of the top high academic prospects from the event.
Tavionte Jackson 6’1 PG Hard 2 Guard 2022 (#5PHN 2022) – Jackson staked his claim as one of the West Coast top PG’s. In addition to his on court game, he goes hard in the classroom bringing home a 4.2 GPA.
Jayson Mathews 5’9 PG Rose City Ballers 2022 (#23PHNC 2022) – The jitterbug PG, is also a fast learner. A 4.0 student, Mathews was one of the quickest players participating in the event.
Isiah Carr 6’11 C D1 New Mexico 2022 (featured image) – This was my first chance to lay eyes on Carr. He’s a fierce competitor on the floor, but one of the nicest kids you will meet off it. In the classroom Carr rocks a 4.7 GPA.
Daryian Matthews Daryian Matthews 6'5" | PF Dysart | 2021 State AZ 6’5 PF D1 New Mexico 2021 (#95PHA 2021) – Mathews is a relentless rebounder. He is also an articulate, intelligent student athlete with a bright future and a 4.7 GPA. He has received interest from such high academic schools as George Fox and John Jay to name a few.
Caleb Nelson 6’6 SF Coastal Elite Slayers 2021 (#58PHSC 2021) – Nelson is a sharpshooting wing with good size. That includes the size of the computer between his ears. Nelson brings home a 4.1 GPA.
Yaru Harvey Yaru Harvey 6'3" | CG Sheldon | 2021 CA-S 6’3 SG Nor Cal Ducks 2021 – Harvey is a strong driver and slasher. He is also strong in the classroom. The 6’3 wing comes through with a 3.99 GPA.
