Specifically he had 15 from CA, 10 teams from AZ, 5 from Washington, 3 from Las Vegas, 2 from New Mexico and 1 from Colorado in the 16 and 17U divisions.
Here were some of the 2022 talent I watched:
Jordan Pope Jordan Pope 6'1" | PG Prolific Prep | 2022 State #194 Nation CA-N Prolific Prep (Arsenal Elite 17)
-One of the top natural scoring guards on the West Coast. He goes through stretches where he is nearly impossible to stop. He has volleyball line shooting range and he gets his shot off quickly with confidence. He is incredible off the pick and roll and can thread the needle to find a teammate or score it for himself.
Aidan Mahaney Aidan Mahaney 6'3" | PG Campolindo | 2022 State #71 Nation CA-N Campolindo (Team Grr!! 17)
-A pure PG who is an outstanding passer with both hands. What impressed me with him is his ball handling. He is just as effective with his left hand as his dominant right. He can maneuver a defense and drop off a dime making it look easy. His handle is super tight in traffic and he can back down his defender and makes a play off of it or score it himself.
Duke Brennan Duke Brennan 6'10" | C Hillcrest Prep | 2022 State #219 Nation AZ Eduprize (The Show)
-A load to deal with in the post also happens to have one of the best motors in the state. He is tough, physical and rugged in every way. He plays with a nasty mean streak and isn’t afraid to get on the floor for a loose ball. He has advanced post moves and counter moves he can utilize and looks a little leaner and moves better. Outside of his incredible motor, the thing that jumped out to me was his improved skill. He can now comfortably step out to the 3pt line and he can create his own shot.
Oziyah Sellers Oziyah Sellers 6'3" | SG Modesto Christian | 2022 #162 Nation CA-S Southern California Prep (Arsenal Elite 17)
-A long and lean big upside combo guard. He is very shifty and has a nice pull-up off the dribble plus can hit the deep-3. He sets up his feet so quickly before he gets the ball and fires away in a blink of an eye. He definitely lets the game come to him and doesn’t force anything.
Jaylen Thompson Southern California Prep (Arsenal Elite 17)
-Another long athlete has a big rep. He showed flashes of it during the games with hitting 3’s, mid-range jumpers, using a floater, playing above the rim and being active on defense. He can block shots, collect steals and rebounds decently. Another big upside player for the Team Arsenal program.
Ringo Aguek Ringo Aguek 6'7" | SF Ironwood | 2022 State AZ Ironwood (Team Zona 16) (Pictured)
-A super long quick-twitched wing forward who is getting better in each viewing. He is a fluid athlete who can handle the rock and he can score it from all 3 levels. He makes catch-3’s, he can create his own shot in the paint and plays way above the rim on the break. All that being said, his best attribute may be his versatile defense. He is an out of area rebounder like his older brother Ajang Aguek was. Plus he collects steals impressively with his wingspan and he will block shots.
