#1 Lymon Simmons (Snow Canyon)
The 6’9 C/F has been impressive and has had some growth in his game. Last season Lyman could score without any plays going his way by simply finding ways to score. This year look for Lyman to have his number called often as he has proven against high level competition that he garners the respect and shot making ability to go his way. With multiple Division 1 schools adding Lyman to their big board look for Lyman to continue to increase his stock as 6’9 kids with skill don’t go unseen. Lyman spent this summer and Spring playing up on the 16’s with the Utah Prospects. He has really developed a solid 15-foot jumper that he will be able to use at the high-post against a zone. Lyman can also attack from that area with one dribble and finish above the rim and over defenders. With his back to the basket Lyman can finish over both shoulders and at times drop step dunk if he is not pushed off the block. With an extremely long wingspan Lyman can sure rebound at both ends of the floor. He does a great job of keeping the ball high for easy put-backs. Defensively Lyman knows when to go straight up or attack and extend to alter shots. He does a good job of holding his grounds and making shots difficult for players his height or taller.
#2 Jordan Ross Jordan Ross 6'3" | PG Link Academy | 2023 #132 Nation MO (Pleasant Grove)
Jordan has a style of play that is ready now, yet he keeps adding to his game. You can tell that Jordan has been paying a lot of attention to the small details in his game. The 6’1 PG is a HM player with a big time recent offer from Utah University. Jordan is your typical HM stat stuffer that looks to play the game the right way. He could easily take the easy route and score at a high clip but he is out making whoever is playing besides him better. He could be triple-double machine. Jordan has a high IQ with some great vision. Jordan can really find pockets in the defense even without the ball. Jordan is going to increase his game in years to come, he has that “IT” that college coaches look for. Jordan was able to play up with a local team at the 17’s level and he didn’t miss a beat. Jordan can shoot the ball at a high percentage and he can sure step out. One of the most steady young guards you will see. Jordan can really set himself up and others at an elite level. Jordan is quick off the bounce with his jumper and moves to the basket. He has a mature game and takes what is given to him.
#3 Michael Mitton (Pleasant Grove)
One of the toughest guards out there. The kid can defend as he can really move his feet laterally. He is physical on the defensive end as he can really make it difficult for anyone to get anything easy. Michael keeps it simple, he doesn’t need an arsenal of moves to get to the basket. He has a quick first step and can create separation with a quick move. Michael has those three levels of scoring down. He is great in the spot up game and can shoot off the dribble. He can also make that 15-foot jumper with ease. One of the most impressive aspects of his game is his ability to finish through contact. Michael can run any of the guard positions. Tough on rebounds and he can really push tempo as well.
#4 James Rust James Rust 6'5" | CG Timpview | 2023 State UT (Timpview)
James is a kid that does it so quietly as he can really do a lot out there. Although his game isn’t super flashy the kid can play. He will quietly get on the stat sheet with his inside/outside game. The 6’5 prospect is active and he will quietly find himself getting a lot of playing time at one of the top 5A school in the state that has some talented players on the roster. James can hit the three and make a quick move and finish above the rim. In due time he will be a name everyone will know.
#5 Trey Evans Trey Evans 6'5" | PG RSL Academy | 2023 State UT (RSL Academy)
Trey is in a new situation that is similar as his past. Trey will continue to play under his father and develop. With some added length Trey has more size at 6’4-6’5 running the PG position. Trey will get a lot of playing time and he will shine. Trey has a nice handle that works well for him as he is a willing drive and kick PG. Trey can also shoot the ball well from the outside. There is a lot of growth in his game that we have yet to see.
