With these early rankings we look forward to watching these promising players continue to turn it up. Wasatch Academy dominated the Top 5 but there re two young prospects that are local that have really been showing out this Spring/Summer.
1.Richard Isaacs Jr. (Wasatch Academy)
The last time we were able to watch “Pop Pop” he suited up With Belmont Shore and he was in his bag. Although he has a target on his back because he is a 5-star rated player he plays with a chip on his shoulder. He competes at both ends of the floor. He has a great looking outside jumper. He can hit off of a kick-out from all over the floor. He can pull up from the left or right side off the bounce. Richard has a great feel for the game that allows him to create for himself and teammates. He is a tough cover in the open floor as he will make you commit and find a way to get the ball to a teammate or simply switch directions and make defenders look silly. Another impressive aspect about his game is how fast he can pull-up and get his feet under him. Pop Pop has his pick of schools with so many Division 1 offers.
2. Jaxon Kohler Jaxon Kohler 6'9" | PF Southern California Academy | 2022 #49 Nation CA-S (American Fork)
Jaxon has a bright future with his elite skill and motor. Probably the best footwork in all of basketball and that includes the country. He will continue to rise among top players in the country as hi splay is just grown. With his back to the basket he can give you all the shakes and moves and finish with an array of moves. When he faces up he can move to one side and quickly change directions and finish through contact. Jaxon can really score from all three levels but the most impressive part of his game and IQ is that he knows how to get to his spots. He will bully his way to his sweet spots or find openings in the defense. Another solid Utah product that has a lot of Division 1 offers under his belt.
3. Collin Chandler Collin Chandler 6'5" | CG Farmington | 2022 State #28 Nation UT (Farmington)
Collin is a player that has put in that work and it has shown. He can go to the basket with his left and right and he has been able to keep defenders honest as he has been able to hit those long balls from distance. When defenders extend too far he can get by them and finish above the rim. At 6’4 and a true Combo Guard Collin has really shot up the rankings locally and he will soon be a player that will be known Nationally. Collin has also impressed many with his defensive improvement as he can move his feet laterally and catch those smaller defenders. Collin is a HM player that has everyone locally looking his way including the local school. With a recent offer from Stanford Collin gets it done in the classroom as well.
4.Matus Hronsky (Wasatch Academy)
Matus s a player that has waited his turn at a powerhouse. Matus is a true wing at 6’8 that can move extremely well laterally with the ball. He is active on both ends of the floor with his rebounding and his elite ability to move without the basketball. Matus is long and bouncy. He is a Division 1 prospect that will start to get more noticed with more playing time this year. Matus can rebound and lead the break as he has elite vision and passing ability. High ceiling for this kid.
5. Keba Keita Keba Keita 6'9" | C Wasatch Academy | 2022 State #157 Nation UT (Wasatch Academy)
Keba Keita Keba Keita 6'9" | C Wasatch Academy | 2022 State #157 Nation UT is a man amongst boys. He is really tough on the blocks. He has some raw talent that some colleges will come running to continue to develop. With his recent transfer from 2A American Heritage to National Power Wasatch Academy Keba will have suiters lining up. Keba is a 6’9 shot blocker that can run up and down the floor with speed and often times outrunning guards. Look for him to have a stunning year. Potential is off the charts.
