Utah happens to be the only state in the West that is currently planning on starting their basketball season, at least that seems to be the plan. The Class of 2022 here locally has received a few upgrades when it comes to prospects. We take a look at some of those upgrades.
(# 2) Jaxon Kohler Jaxon Kohler 6'9" | PF Southern California Academy | 2022 #49 Nation CA-S (American Fork)
If you do not know who Jaxon is by now, you must not be in the basketball loop. Jaxon has a lot of eyes on him as he is one of the best players in the country. He can really figure his defender out quickly and find ways to score or exploit their weakness. He has some major IQ on both ends of the floor. Jaxon has some high quality moves and can get his shots up quickly. The biggest question will likely be if Jaxon ends up getting courted by a “Blue Blood” that takes him outside of Utah.
(# 9) 6’11 Adam Stewart Adam Stewart 6'11" | C RSL Academy | 2022 State UT (RSL Academy)
Adam not only brings a lot of height to RSL Academy but he adds some much needed height to the class of 2022 prospects across the state. Adam is a solid rim protector that is hard to move. He has a decent shot. Adam can finish around the rim and he is able to go over both shoulders. He is a tough body to defensive rebound against which enables his team to get extra looks at the basket. Look for Adam to make a name for himself as RSL Academy will be playing in some impressive tournaments against some impressive teams. Adam could easily be a double-double machine with a handful of blocks. He is a new comer to keep an eye on.
(# 27) 6’2 Jett Lundberg Jett Lundberg 6'2" | PG Alta | 2022 State UT (Alta)
A virtually unknown player because he didn’t see any minutes on varsity at Alta, but that should change as he has a strong body and size for a PG. Jett has a great motor on both ends of the floor. Jett could be a new bright spot in Alta’s success as they will need some players to fill some roles. Jett could be a great fit as he can shoot the ball and handle the ball as well. Jett is a new comer to keep an eye on.
(# 53) 6’4 ’EsafeTaufahema (West Jordan)
’Esafe is an under the radar player that plays with a high motor and a lot of heart. He is often undersized because he plays a SF position but he plays with so much energy that he finds ways to rebound and get stops. He is hard to box-out and put a body on. He can score the ball on broken plays and put-backs. He’s a player that is the glue to the success his team has had and will have.
