Today, we are taking a look at team-by-team with how they played and our overall thoughts on each player on their rosters.
Indy Heat EYBL 2022
Tayshawn Comer Tayshawn Comer 6'0" | PG Cathedral | 2022 State #226 Nation IN – 5’11 PG 2022 – Cathedral (IN)
Comer is a tough lead guard that already plays at such an elite level. Looks as though he has has gotten bigger and a lot stronger since the last time I saw him. Surprisingly was pretty quiet “scoring wise” but was real active in getting his teammates involved on the offensive end. On the defensive end, he was a lockdown defender with a few stops and steals. High level prospect that should only get better and better these next couple of years.
Fletcher Loyer – 6’2 SG 2022 – Homestead (IN)
Loyer is a tall shooting guard that plays with a ton of toughness. Was real aggressive on the drive and got to the foul line a ton in this game. Showed off some great shooting as well, especially his shooting off a catch. His best play of the game was his steal and score off a fastbreak. Loyer played like one of the best players on the floor. Interesting prospect to keep an eye on.
Chris Gunn Chris Gunn 6'5" | SG Lawrence North | 2022 State #114 Nation IN – 6’5 SG 2022 – Lawrence North (IN)
Gunn is a big wing with a ton of length and plenty of upside. Started off a little slow at first but really started to get on a roll towards the end of the first half. He was one of the best rebounders on the court that entire game I watched. So good in transition and showed that with a transition dunk and pull-up 3. Needs to continue to add some weight but Gunn is a high level prospect in the 2022 class.
Landen Babusiak Landen Babusiak 6'11" | C Bosco Institute/Indiana Connections Academy | 2022 State IN – 6’9 PF 2022 – Hanover Central (IN)
Babusiak is a big forward who is long and lean. Highly skilled and is really mobile for a big man. Showed some great post defense and had a few blocks to prove that. His best play on offense was his put-back dunk he had in the first half. With legit size and an elite skill-set, the upside is pretty high right now.
Peter Moe Peter Moe 6'8" | PF Cathedral | 2022 IA – 6’9 PF 2022 – Cathedral (IN)
Moe is an athletic and strong big. Was not really a factor in the first half of the game but was real active in the second half. Had a good amount of rebounds during this game and was arguably the best rebounder on the court. Type of post player that really loves to bang down low. Also would say he has the ability to guard multiple positions. Should see him breakout soon.
Andrew Leeper Andrew Leeper 6'6" | PF Homestead | 2022 State IN – 6’6 PF 2022 – Homestead (IN)
Leeper is a big wing with size and a good amount of skill. Type of player that does a solid job in scoring at all three levels. True stretch 4 that does real well playing in both the post and wing areas. Made a couple of big plays like his 3 off the catch and a huge block on the defensive end. Showed a lot of toughness this game and does have some big upside to him.
